Hi Susan and Cheryl, Know anyone who would rescue these three GORGEOUS boys? I am thinking a back yard breeder dumped them... Komondor Rescue isn't helping I heard-not purebred enough This is a great place to rescue from apparently. What cuties! Here's more info from the website:
These beautiful boys came to us by way of animal control. At 1st we thought pyrenees, but their coat is much more different, we THINK they are Komondors. You know the dogs w/ dread locks. They are approximately 10-12 months of age and still very much puppies. They are so sweet, playful, and have the cutest 2 inch overbites you have ever seen! |
They are adorable but they are most definitely not Komondors-- at all. The coat is even more wrong for a Kom at 10 to 12 months. I think they would have better luck to list them as Great Pyrenees mixes. They look like a Great Pyr mixed with a terrier of some sort. Sue, has anyone tried Great Pyr rescue? Perhaps they'd be more helpful.
Just for a point of reference, this is Bear at 10 or 11 months-- look at the color and consistency of his coat. At that age, they should be one giant mat! |
I think they look more like Pyrenees too. I always feel bad when dogs are labeled the wrong breed on pet finder, as I always wonder if it eliminates their chances with certain breed rescues. |
thye are so sweet looking that is where derby came from .. |
I received an e-mail from Sue that Big Fluffy Dog Rescue out of TN is going to spring these guys! |
I adore Kobe. They look mostly Pyr to me. |

Perfect! They're definitely big, fluffy dogs! |
My friend down the road is going to take them. Sometimes I foster for her. She does pyr's and those dogs are Pyr's mix with something.
No way Comondore's. There is no such breed here in our area and if there was, they would not let them get out and breed. Some people have never seen an OES here, they just know them from the movies. Lots of Pyr mixes in our area. They are still used to guard the herds and most of them are not spayed or neutered and I guess that is why there are so many Pyr mixes out there. My friend with the Pyr rescue is loaded with dogs. |
ingrid looks like one is adopted pending, they are so sweet i always want the ones with tails.. |
Yeah, Pyr mixes. Check for those double dews in the rear. Pyr has a nice mellow temper so should be fine dogs. I'd probably take one.......no wait, NO MORE DOGS!!! |
i know if i had a way to get kobe to fla?? anyone coming this way |
I just looked, and it says all 3 are now adopted!!! Yay! |
