Hastings being naughty...
I'm not trying to tease him, really I'm not. Carrots are Hastings' treats. When I get them from the store, the carrots have been sprayed with water (repeatedly) and are soaking wet. If I don't dry them before storing them in the refrigerator, they get all slimy. What you see on the counter is some baby carrots air drying on a piece of white paper towel... Did this video make you laugh???? I hope so! Of course, I'm sure that none of you have naughty sheepies... He he he he Please Hastings pictures.... |

| He is adorable! That's very cute. Maybe you could dry the carrots in the oven or microwave so they are not there torturing him? I don't mean by cooking them -- just a secure place that he will not see them. I usually put mine in the fridge in a ziplock with a paper towel inside. . . |

Since he stands so well at the counter, maybe you should teach him how to do dishes. 
I was almost expecting him to get up there. Unforunately I know all too well about counter surfing. It's a popular sport in our house.  |

I have another video of Hastings (NOT YET POSTED), of him trying to get to the carrots. I that one, he jumps up and down so enthusiastically that he loses his center of gravity and flips backwards. HE DID NOT GET HURT. It was the funniest thing!!!!!! No one was more surprised by the fall than Hastings... I may just have to add that one... Sorry about the slow download.. the video is about 15 MB... that's why it takes a while. About the counters... Thanks for the complements! They are granite - the color is called Lake Superior Green. Perfect for some serious counter surfing! About how big Hastings is.. well, actually, he's quite small. He's 2 years old. He weighs only 69 pounds. Not all that tall at the shoulders (I've never measured), but this dog has a REACH!!!!!!! BTW - I no longer put the carrots in such a tempting place. Once I captured the event on video, I moved the carrots into a more inaccessible spot! Sure was funny, though... |

I agree with everone else... the countertops are beautiful. (green with envy!!) you'll not find something that nice in military housing-- THAT's for sure! |

Drez can open the cabinet under the sink, pull out the garbage can on its track, and can open the drawers! We've already had to replace one set of doorknobs on the cabinet under the sink and the replaced set needs replacing now too!
When we go out, we've had to revert to moving the garbage can and leaving the cabinet doors and drawers open so that she can see there's nothing in there!  |
