We have it in our house.. it is environmentally friendly..no trees were harmed or felled in the making of cork..cork is naturally anti-allergenic and anti-static, very soft on the feet and legs and warm!!! |
Oh! I've got a question about it... I need to put something else in the kitchen...
How do you think it would hold up to a herd of wild dogs? Does it absorb wet stuff like from dripping wet dog faces? Not the other end ... I think Panda's bladder surgery was a success! |
So far the floor has held up extremely well in our house. Although it is a softer substance, (kind of like pine floors), there have been no digs or gouge marks. We replaced our laminate with this surface because Dudley was having a hard time getting up when laying down... he would slip and slide and it was just to painful for me to watch.
We went with a high finish on the cork so that it would be durable to sloppy drinkers.. so far, so good... I am trying to teach Troy not to be so messy when he drinks.. what do you do.. men!!!!! |
Quote: he would slip and slide and it was just to painful for me to watch. It's because of Panda's hips that we considered it too. These hooligans have done a number on the Bruce oak flooring... it's got an interesting texture Sigh. But we expected it. I'll look into it further... thanks for sharing the info! |
I think I will look into also, It's for my shop in the house (basement) The softer floor is what I was looking for, what about front entery way? |
Do you have a picture of it, Brenda? I'd like to see what it looks like. |
I think with any floor covering, there is always a risk of water damage.. but if you seal properly and don't leave water sitting, it should minimize the potential... that and a good mat.... |
I haven't taken any pictures since we installed it, I really suck at taking pictures....I will see if I can find a picture of the style that we have, they come in lots and lots of styles.. |
Are there little notes and push pins and stuff all over it? |
Style 294 is very similar to ours, http://www.corkfloors.com/style294.htm |
That's very interesting! I would like to walk on it and see how it feels under foot. Might work great in my bathroom which is in desperate need of a new floor. |
it is not very common here yet.. but has been used in homes for awhile in Europe, it because it was on "Clearance". I probably won't come across a deal like that again |
