I would defintely put him back in the crate, for his own safety. He could end up getting a hold of an electrical cords and that would be the end of him.
You can try him again out of the crate in a few months when he's a little more mature. |
Put him back in the crate. Some sheepdogs can be bitter and resentful with a change in their routine and they will let you know it by destroying whatever they can get their paws on. This is probably not the corrrect doggie explanation of the occurrences but humanizing it makes it easier to explain!! |
I would definitely put him in his crate. I just did the same thing with Obe as he decide it was ok to urinate in the room one night. Then did it again the next night. He is back to sleeping in the bed & sleeping all night. He slept in the crate for two or three weeks though. I leave him in the garage with access to the outside (fenced yard) during the day. I will leave him inside if I am going some where and wont be more than a couple of hours and have had success but never any longer. |
friend of mine had shift change and her male peed on her computer. And yes it does not work now. |
Not only did it make your fried mad, but it pissed off her computer, too! |
Could be be teething? Maybe some molar in back is coming in. Mouth discomfort could be causing this need to chew everything in sight. Back to the grate and a good chew toy. |

Oh my goodness !!! LOL I checked his mouth no new teeth. I do believe it is more of a revenge chewing. I dont think he likes to be left alone. I went to take a shower and he got in the trash this morning. He did a revenge trashing of the dining room. Our shasta, when she was young would do what we would call a revenge pooping if we left her alone too long, BUT with her it only took getting in trouble 2 or 3 times and she didnt do it again. Beauford is so stubborn, ignoring him, not giving treats and etc doesnt seem to phase him. I think its just the difference in personality between oes and gsd. Gsd's want to please you and make you happy, where I am learning oes are stubborn and want their own way. |

My Chewie and Ollie are/were very people pleasers and never vengeful. And my GSD Jenny was also. Beauford must just be a stubborn guy, or you haven't hit on the right incentive. |
Sounds more like he has separation anxiety.I would still keep him in a crate til you figure it out. Maybe give him something more apropriate to chew on. |
Back to the crate is working out better than I thought. He actually got right back into the routine and is so excited to see us when we get home. His whole butt wiggle and craziness is still there when we get home. |
