Butters isn't used to having such a playful pup (he might be big, but he's definitely a pup still) so she's letting him know what she doesn't like and he's starting to get it. I have taken them both for a couple of walks, and they walk real good together. Next time I'll use the double-leash since they do so good with each other. He is a bit skinny, so I'm feeding him three times per day. Any advice in this department? I've never had to fatten up a dog before. The cat was not happy to see him at first, so we had to keep him away, but this morning Parker walked by him and he almost didn't care. So with time, they'll be friends. Oh, and I posted some pictures. My favorite is the one of Nicole and Parker where she has this face "He's how BIG???". Her face when she first saw him was a price winner!! |

Parker is gorgeous!!! Loved your photos!
Your girls are very pretty too. Thinking good looks runs in your family. Marianne |
He's beautiful. I'm seeing a lot of Pyr.......especially the tail positions, Pyrs curve their tail to the side and over. Did you say he has double dews in the back? Ear set is about right for a Pyr. Both breeds have leopard skin and roofs of mouths so that doesn't help. Eye lining could be Pyr or sheepie.
Keep posting pictures, I want to watch one leg in the rear. Anyways, 88 lbs of fun. BTW..........keep him LEAN! Pyrs metabolisms are slower than sheepies so they don't eat as much. They are not massive dogs, they should be...well, not skinny, just lean. When I had the big whites (not this dwarf) MO the 63 lb sheepie ate as much as the Pyrs........they just don't need as much.....hence feel high quality. Also Pyr metabolisms make them more sensitive to anaesthesia.......remind your vet. |
The fur-kids look like they have been together forever !!!
Congratulations!!!!!!!!! He is beautiful and always smiling. Antoinette |

He lunges into the food as soon as I start getting it ready and is done eating within a minute. Is this a Pyr thing, or just a Parker thing? When I run my hands through his coat, his ribs are right there. There's hardly any fat between the coat and the bones. Also, his backbone is high and it feels like there's no fat at all there. Are these things normal Pyr things? We love him so much! He's a doll, but does have a couple of bad habits we'll need to work on. He understands what "no" means, so I'm not seeing any huge battles ahead. He has met a lot of my kids' friends and everybody falls in love with him instantly. I wonder why?? |
