Summer

got into a situation tonight. She was in the front room just mooching about being nosey. I was on the computer, and son was watching her. She somehow managed to put her head under the telephone wire (the curly bit) and then try to reverse. The small table fell down as did the phone. She tried to run, the phone chased her, she made a noise as if she was being killed. Son grabbed her (I was scared she would bite) I calmed her down by talking gently to her, and we released her. The neighbours must have thought she was being murdered. I gave her a cuddle and then she went and sat on the sofa with the Yorkie for a bit of comfort. She then rushed out the kitchen looking for her Dad for a bit of comfort. He was asleep upstairs so she went in her favourite sleeping place in the kitchen. Poor Lamb she did scare herself!

When we have a situation that scares a pup/dog, we cajole the dog into understanding that they don't need to be frightened and we encourage them to come up and investigate. We try to keep a happy, joking tone while doing this so they come to understand it was not a big deal. Just my opinion but it seems to help the pup/dog get over what had caused such an intense fear.

If it was the telephone wire that hooks up telephone base that caused this problem, you might consider wrapping it around the leg of the table a couple/few times so there's nothing for her to snag... it should help to eliminate her ability to hook the cord again. It also works for lamps.

Or were you talking about the cord to the handset? :? This obviously wouldn't work if that's the case

Hugs to your baby.
Yep it was the curly cord to the handset that she got tangled in. She is her usual brave self today though. I tink it might be as her hair is over her eyes. So I have to talk hubby into either cutting or pinning back....his dog not mine!
Aw, that poor baby! What a sight that must have been.
