By "In need of funding" I mean that but for the lack of funds, they would be doing more to help OES be rescued. In other words, if they had a small amount of additional dollars they would be able to help more sheepies. If you can, would you explain the need? Also, please note if they have a 501(c)(3) designation. Thanks. |

I know that OES Rescue Southeast can always use the funds and we are definitely 501 (c) (3). I am sure either Ingrid, Sue, or Betsy will chime in as well. |
I know Colorado Rescue is always on the edge. I don't think Bette or Joe is on this site, so I'll plug for them. |
I don't believe any of these have their 501(c)3 status (yet) but are definitely in need of funds:
Carolina's Old English Sheepdog Rescue Minnesota Old English Sheepdog Rescue Chicagoland OES Club Rescue Indiana-Midwest Old English Sheepdog Rescue New York/Ohio Old English Sheepdog Rescue |
I know OES Rescue of Florida does have the proper documentation and they just had a major emergency that set them back a few thousand dollars. They recovered some of they money although not even close to the price of their original bill.
Their website is www.oesrfl.org. |
Hi Ron
I don't know if this was just meant for America or not, but Gill Harwood does a wonderful job in England with her Old English Sheepdog Rescue and Welfare Fundand she would no doubt welcome any help she could get. www.ticky-ti-boo.de some info: The official British Old English Sheepdog Rescue Centre, based in Lincolnshire in the UK. Run by Gill Harwood, the fund relies on donations and funds raised with the help of supporters. In recent years the number of Old English Sheepdogs coming into the rescue has increased dramatically. The majority of them, after careful assessment by Gill are found new homes. Some have disabilities and take longer to rehome, some cannot be rehomed, through no fault of their own, they are simply too old ! These dogs are not 'put to sleep' just because they are old. They are cared for by Gill and live out their life with her in Lincolnshire. All this takes money !!! There are various ways to help; Give an Old English Sheepdog a loving home. Give a donation Sponsor a dog Donations can be sent direct to Gill at ~ Gill Harwood, The Old English Sheepdog Rescue & Welfare Fund, The Old Farmhouse, High Hammeringham, HORNCASTLE, Lincs. LN9 6PE. UK. If you are genuinely interested in giving an Old English Sheepdog a good home then please write, or telephone Gill on ~ 01 507 588 644 (because Gill recieves so many calls, be prepared to leave full details on her machine so that she can contact you) Gill is very thorough when she rehomes a dog. She likes to be sure that the new partnership will work. If it doesn't work out Gill will always have the dog back but it is far better for the dog to get the right home in the first place ! Each year in September there is a big reunion for all the rehomed Old English Sheepdogs. It is a wonderful sight ! To see so many big, bouncy, happy, Old English Sheepdogs with their new families ! It's all thanks to one person Gill Harwood. Please support in whatever way you can. Molly was fortunate to have a sponsor when she went into Gill's rescue. A very kind man, already an Old English Sheepdog owner. He wanted to do more to help the rescued dogs, unable to rehome another dog he decided to sponsor a dog. Sponsorship is a good way to help. Not everyone can take on the responsibilities of dog ownership. If you could sponsor an Old English Sheepdog, contact Gill, don't delay do it today !!! Seen in the Bobbytails Website www.bobbytails.com worth a visit |
