ABUSE AT TRUMBULL COUNTY POUND
The description was horrible enough. Pls share this everywhere. Greetings, I know we all get tons of these pleas BUT this one is dire (PLEASE) take a moment to read this ! There is a link below to a YouTube.com video of a precious sweet Beagle being attacked (you can't see much BUT you can hear what is happening). She is in a kennel with 2 pitbulls. The Pound employees don't come to investigate or even help this animal. They won't move her to a safe space despite 2 open kennels. Her cries will cut you like a knife, I am still relieving her cries of pain. Please if anyone has: ANY room for these animals, ANY legal advice/experience with neglectful/abusive dog pounds, ANY contacts with the Media or can make any suggestions, please join: FriendsofTrumbullCountyDogPoundOH@yahoogroups.com . You are desperately needed and welcomed ! We all know (but wont' accept), that we can't save them all, despite all our efforts, BUT something needs to be done about this horrific dog pound and the untold abuse the animals endure. Euthanasia is probably a blessing to these animals whose really torture was being brought to this Pound. There is a group of wonderful volunteers working tirelessly to ensure humane treatment is given to the animals brought to the Trumbull County Dog Pound. The Pound does not want them there despite the good work the volunteers are doing (bringing attention to the community to get dogs adopted and pull/hold/transport dogs for out-of-state rescues). | You know... it's seems that Animal Control or The Pound has the exact same responsibilities as a dog owner once a dog is in their custody and control. What would be done to a dog owner that did this to a pet?
Sadly, euthanasia is sometimes the kinder choice if the only other alternative is suffering. I hope charges of some kind can be brought against the lazy cruds working and in control over there. Maybe loosing their jobs/benefits will make them understand this type of neglect is not going to be accepted. PS- The video has been removed. Hoping the Beagle survived though I question it. I suppose the owner could be contacted to substantiate or refute the pounds claim that the owner retrieved him/her. |
