We love our Noz-to-Noz X-Series Sof-Krate for traveling to the beach with Nelson. We bought the 48" crate but should have bought the next smaller size. As large as Nelson is, he still has tons of room in the crate but there's very little space left in the condo. The 40" or 42" would have been fine even for our big boy.
Check the dog show premium lists very closely to see if soft crates are allowed. Many shows prohibit the use of soft crates because dogs have been known to chew through them and escape. You may want to wait until the pups get out of the chewing phase before placing them in a soft crate. They can do a lot of damage. |
Soft crates are great but I would never leave a dog in one unattended as I too have heard and seen dogs go through them.
So much lighter but not as secure, definately if you are thinking of them wait till the pupper chewy destructo stage is well and truly over. |
I wanted to get some for travel, too. I'll check into the one you mentioned, Nita. I think I'd need the biggest one for Beaureguard, but the smaller size would work well for Genny.
If you find a good deal on them while you're shopping, Holly, let me know. Nita, I LOVE your new avatar!! Who is it? |
Tammy, try Amazon, you get free shipping. PetEdge has pretty good prices and the shipping runs about 15% of the item cost. |

I did not order mine from sitstay. Geesh...memory fails me as to where at the moment But I did get free shipping Diane |
Holly, what about the metal ones that fold up accordion style? We could transport them pretty easily but would be easier than lugging constructed crates. |

This is our rescue girl Sassy, who came to us from a Michigan kill shelter last winter. You didn't get to meet her because she's a demon in the car and doesn't travel well at all. |

I have 2 small ones for the truck, and 2 big ones that fold down (think condo) but I'm really only thinking of your back Jill |
I bought one five years ago. I loved it for travel, laying flat under all our luggage in the SUV.
Until Riley chewed her way out of it in July. And she has used it while traveling the last 3 years. |

I have been considered for sainthood..... |
I have a soft crate that I ordered from ebay for $50. The web address on the crate says www.petcabins.biz, but I have never been to the site. I got lucky since Heavy wasn't a chewer, but I have a friend who had to take hers back because her 15lb dog chewed right through it. The convenience is so much better than a constructed crate. The accordian suggestion sounded pretty good as well. |
