HOLY CRAP, I need to clean this house. Our battalion is leaving baskets with goodies, beverages, and new bed linen/comforters for all the single soldiers! That way they come back to their barracks and have something to eat and sleep with since their things are packed away. I can't wait for my husband to see how much his boy has grown and have him feel baby bean move in my belly. <sigh> As most of you know, my son can't talk at all, but yesterday he started saying "DADA." How convenient! |

YIPPIE! |
Hallelluia!!! |

Yeah, what she said!! Jo, that's awesome. I'm so happy for you! You made me laugh with the cleaning statement... |
Ditto and Ditto!
How absolutely wonderful!!!!! |
wonderful news, so happy for you and take it easy on that husecleaning |
See he could be home before the fist sticky snow. I am so happy for you and little ones. |
Tasker's Mom wrote: :cheer: YIPPIE!
Ditto from me too. I bet you'll be happy to get rid of the belly beans. I am so happy Lil J said Dada, Mr J is going to go nuts over it. Don't over do it with the cleaning. I know how you go into a cleaning frenzy the week before Mr J comes home to keep you busy. You'll have enough time. |
I am so happy for you! I've been where your at many times Jo.......
I'm actually a little jealous........ no idea when I will see Norm again. He is short handed at his base and they can't be down manpower wise. Don't over do with the cleaning.......... just remember to shave the legs and armpits! lol............ huggs to you............ GO ROCKIES!!!! Ali |
Quote: .. just remember to shave the legs and armpits! lol...........
I'm already having trouble reaching those legs. I keep trying to move my belly to the left or right and get aggravated it won't go anywhere. I don't think my husband can take doing what Norm does, Ali. It IS a job he is considering and has been studying for some big foreign service test offered by the government, but.... I think he wants to be home more near the family. It would be different if our kids were older, I'm sure. |
Yay wonderful news, happy happy Banana dance WOO HOO |
Yep, it's a job. Norm is up for 2 promotions now. That will mean he may be there another 2 or 3 years mminimum.......
oh well................ |
I am sooooo happy for you!
I have a feeling Mr. J won't care about armpits or legs for a while, anyways. We have about 7 months more before our son is home from Afghanistan. We'll keep you in our prayers. |
Good for you! I think they should all come home. |
That is wonderful news.
I'm sure he can't wait to get home and see how you've grown. Men take a ridiculous pride in it - like they were the 1st man to ever get their wife pregnant. |
YAY!!! |
Great News!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you! |
Thank God!!! What absolutely fabulous news!! I'm sure you want everything to be perfect when he gets there. Just remember, it's you & Lil J he's excited to see. So, don't work too hard. |
I'm so happy for you! Rest and relax! The celebration is about to begin!
mouthypf |
Oh, what FANTASTIC news!! And just in time for the holidays!! What a joyous time for everyone! |
HUZZAH!!!!!
That's so wonderful Jo! Wish we had a yellow ribbon Icon.... I'm so excited for you. That'd be awesome if he could make it home in time for Thanksgiving. Yay yay yay!!!! I've been a little behind on forum stuff, after having been gone on vacation with no working internet. But this is great news to come back to! Hope you and Bean are doing well! So does this mean you'll be moving to MN in 2008??? There are still some really cute Victorian houses for sale in my neighborhood!!! |
Basically, it comes down to one thing. First person to find my husband a good job will be where we move. |
Oh lawdy, I'd better get busy then!! |
Hey, that's not fair, I don't know what he wants to do when he grows up!!! |
Fantastic news!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

That's great news. I hope the time zooms by for you. |
Woo hoo...that's awesome!! We just found out that Jason is going to be deployed in February so I'll be in your shoes soon. |
For 15 months? Well, you know who you can email!!!!!!!!!! Glad he can be home for Christmas. |
Jo , You would LOVE Nashville ! Plenty of work here.
Nissan is getting ready to open their Corporate headquarters about 2 miles from me and we just found out we are getting Verizon corporate headquarters too! Someone also told me about a big dog food company corporate office coming here soon also,I think they said Purina. Lots of work here !!!!! Oh, and ME ! Can you say doggie play days ? Antoinette |
^^^
Well I told my husband. He loves Nissan. Some 6 figure positions opened up at headquarters Wal-Mart and McDonalds too. they just need to stay open long enough for my husband to get home and get his resume out. |
Woohoo!!!! I'm so happy for you!!!! |
Joahaeyo wrote: For 15 months? Well, you know who you can email!!!!!!!!!! Glad he can be home for Christmas.
Not quite. They told him to expect 6-12. I'm hoping for the 6. |
Well, the first set came home today! When they asked a soldier what he missed the most, he said "HOME COOKING!" Awee, guess I need to pull out Mr. J's favorite dishes!
Although it's looking more and more like my guy won't be home until 1st week of Dec (time frame). He's not positive but he told me not to expect him there for Thanksgiving. Still exciting to see someone home! Here's a sad story from Ft. Bliss, TX: So this soldier gets seriously injured to the head in Iraq. He gets sent to a hospital in Dallas. All stressed out and I'm sure anxious... his young wife drives from El Paso to Dallas. I believe it was the middle of the night/early morning. On the way there, she gets in a car accident. Her two youngest kids were killed Her third child is in critical condition and not looking good. Considering all she has already gone through.... to lose 2-3 of your kids on top of it all. sooooo sad. |
Oooh that is just so so sad and tragic, poor family for all this to happen to them
Hey J, you can always move to OZ with the whole family. Sooo excited for you, won't be long now then Happy Happy times with everyone home sweet home. |
Just wanted to say my husband should be leaving Iraq in the next week!!!!!!!!!! (still could be 7-12 days before he arrives). Will be the last ones to return and hopefully out of harms way! *crosses fingers*
I'll get a phone call when they leave Kuwait, and then one more when they land in Anchorage (several days apart of course)! I'm so excited! I'm probably going to put the banner up thurs/friday of next week and pray I can get everything cleaned in time, get oes cards out, gifts wrapped, and christmas stuff out! Yesterday was the second story I heard where a girl was PAST her due date and had the baby/went into labor while waiting for her husband at the gym. Perfect timing! I will be 31-32 wks when arrives. ...just in time to help me roll out of bed in the middle of night and hear me complain about aches and pains! edit: Oh, and an update on the Ft. Bliss story I posted in my previous post. The third child that was in critical condition ....did not make it. How sad. I hear it's a huge story (touched the hearts of many) in TX. |
How exciting!!!!!!
Don't over do--- I'm sure all your husband wants is to see you and Lil 'J - the rest will take care of its self!! |
I know you are so excited!! I agree don't overdo........... and take care of yourself!! He will be here in no time.
Ali |
Yay for the good news!!!
I'm sure he will be thrilled to see your cute pregnant bod! and lil' J again. The house will be fine. That is so sad about the family in Texas. |
From a retired Air Force Reservist in Phoenix, we wish them a safe return home and hope they never have to go away again. God Bless |
I know you must be excited, HANG IT THE BIG DAY IS COMING!!!!!!!!!! |
Not long now! And I wouldn't worry about how your house looks, I doubt he'll even notice it for awhile . Throw some Nair on your legs and you'll be good to go |
...must stop eating jelly beans... |
Oh Jo, that's so great!
Can you hire Merry Maids or something and not even WORRY about cleaning your house (even though I'm sure it's already spotless)? And I agree--don't overdo it--you don't want Mr J to get home and you not be able to move! |
bestdogs wrote: Not long now! And I wouldn't worry about how your house looks, I doubt he'll even notice it for awhile . Throw some Nair on your legs and you'll be good to go Trust me from past experience he won't care nor notice if her legs are shaved!!!! |
so great to here your man will be home soon.. so much to do so little time.. i would have to say fla is not too ggod right now in the job field but i heard .. n.c is the up coming place.. |
i know a reallllyyyyyy nice home in Colorado for lease! lol.........and i happen to know they like old english sheepdogs and would allow one in the house! |
^^^^^^^^^^^
I can't believe you're moving That's one of the incentives I always tell my husband about if we move ...outside of Valerie. Who is going to teach me how to groom now? Yeah, I'm positive he won't care if i'm shaved, but I know I WILL! Eww. Plus, man coming home = messing up the house esp w/all the crap he'll bring home with him from a year gone, so i'm planning ahead. |
Just don't over do it, you don't want that baby dropping on the gym floor. I'm surprised you can even see your legs!
What a tragic story re: Texas. Just awful. |
Hurray!! I'm so happy to hear he'll be home soon!! |
You guys have NO IDEA how excited I am to know he'll be out of danger some time this week...........and that THIS week has already begun. Dying to get that phone call saying he is Kuwait and not his FOB. |
I am so excited for you Mrs J! |
so pleased for you that mr j will be home soon |
Yea!!!!!!!!
Here's hoping that time passes quickly for you this week....... Laurie and Oscar |
Glad to hear that Mr J will be home soon, for good! |
What great news! So glad he will get to be with ya'll soon! |
Would it be OK to hope for lots of fluffy white snow before he gets home and the little bean falls out?
I am so tired of the ice and dirty snow. |
WOO HOO wonderful news. |
Yeah!!!!!
So excited for you all. So glad the waiting is almost over for you. |
The other day when I had my glucose test, moms were having their 2 wk wellness appt. For those who don't know, that's basically a class with a bunch of moms that tell you what to expect w/a two week old kid and then routine shots. Anyway, there were so many soldiers that just got back from Iraq to come home to their wives who just had a baby. Every single one of them had huge smiles on their faces and cute (and ridiculous) pet names for their older kids. They were all holding their newborns ...where you normally see mommy wanting to hold the baby. I can't wait until that's me!!!
Mr. J leaves his FOB today to go to Kuwait!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy!! It'll only be a few days before I say he has left Kuwait. There's no timeline because no one knows yet what flight(s) are available or how long it will take to do the things they need to there (check in equipment, weapons, etc). |
Hurray!!!
|
I am so excited for all of you!!!! Mr. J. HURRY UP AND GET HOME!!!! And...G-d bless ya! |
That is WONDERFUL news!!!
I am so happy for your family!!! |
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
WOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
What a great Christmas present for your family, I'm so happy for you |
