Did I forget to mention that our stadium (LSU's) is ranked as the scariest stadium? It is called Death Valley due to the noise level inside it and it holds approx 95,000 people. All the news say there is an estimated 250,000 visitors to the city this weekend because of the two home games. Hotels are booked up all the way to New Orleans. I tried to go to Walmart last night . The shelves were bare. Anyone else's city get this crazy for college football? I think that today the dogs and I will spend the day at home. And yes the Rescue Mafia are die hard LSU fans. And if you aren't doing anything today - turn to ESPN and get a view of our campus. I am hoping the traffic eases considerable for me tomorrow as I drive to Lafayette and pick up two new fosters. |

OF COURSE! We have been ranked loudest/most spirited several times in the past, so gameday is huge, but being that I've been to Baton Rouge... there's more room for people for sure!! I don't think we were at OUR stadium when we were measured for "loudest fans." I think I'm getting too old for it all. It's tradition for my school to STAND THE ENTIRE GAME to show support, but thankfully you don't have to do that if you sit in the visitor or alumni section.
I'm sure my husband wishes he was in your city this weekend being that he went to LA TECH. Tailgating there was CRAZY in LA. FOOTBALL IS THE BEST!!! |
Not sure if anyone else watched the game on CBS but what a nail bitter. AND WE WON in the last 2 minutes of the game. |
I did see the results, but only because I was concentrating on my team who WON against OK state. WHOOP! |
All in all, we had a great college football day.
We won the annual interstate rivalry. I had 30 people at our house to watch the game, with others going to the game and the fair. Good food, good times. The Aggie Bowl was a good game. Aggie Lite played better than I expected and Fran is still coaching Army Aggie ( ) for another week. The Poke Choke is a powerful weapon. Kansas beat KSU. My b-i-l is a Coordinator for Kansas. Guess those Power Towels weren't so powerful. See YouTube & search for Power Towel if it doesn't make sense. . Stanford won the award for best win of the weekend. I love their band too. Wynetter, Lester made the best calls of his coaching career on those 4th downs. And I have watched him coach for years. Parity in football is making for some interesting games. Though I still like to "hang half a hundred on 'em." |

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO on Stanford!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Yeah, LSU is doing awesome this year! It's a shame the Saints aren't. :sigh: |
This has to be the craziest year ever in college football.
The NCAA has long wanted parity in football - looks like they got it. Our team is now ranked in the Top 5 - after being considered the most likely to be upset yesterday. (Take that Corso) Though I love my team and will die loving my team, there is no way that we are playing like a Top 5 team. Not that I've seen any others that look that good either and that includes the 6 unbeatens. KU - wow! Looks like my former b-i-l will have his job for several more years. I may start drinking before this year is over. |
