yikes- If Texas Rescue cant find homes/fosters I'd take 2-3 up here in Chicago (or course that'd be a last hope since the transport would be a lot of trouble) |
My sister and I would take one in NC if there is a way to get one of the girls here. |
oh what a shame i would take one if i could drive 20 hours .. |
I wish I could help but I am getting 2 fosters this weekend from here in Louisiana, a 4 yr old and a 7 yr old female.
I edited this message to beg folks to consider fostering. Betsy and I were discussing this last night and there is a desperate need for foster families. Please consider fostering! |
I don't know how traveling across country could work, but I would be interested in fostering, if that was possible.

I can foster is transport can meet me half way. |
Steve with Texas OES Rescue put me in touch with Judi. She's a wonderful rescue lady that's finding homes for all of these pups. Dad is an Old English Sheepdog (he's so handsome!) mom is said to be a Great Pyrenees but she's a pretty brown girl. It really is amazing they look so sheepyish when you see mom.
Judi thinks she has homes for most of them and is spaying/neutering ALL of them before she places them This includes mom and dad (dad's now neutered). She does rescue right!! She has 3 more females to spay which includes mom. If anyone would like to make a donation for the remaining 3 spay surgeries, please PM me and I'll provide the vet's contact number. These pups are said to have been very well socialized and well fed within the family's means. The family did their very best with them and it's said to show in how loving these pups are. Hoping the family will be ok too So that's the scoop. Anyone in Texas looking for a great dog, please contact Steve at Texas OES Rescue and he'll put you in touch with Judi. Thanks for all the great offers of help ya'll made to assist these pups and their family. You guys are wonderful! |
I can appreciate the concern for the animals, but has anyone considered assistance for the humans in this story? |
Quote: Hoping the family will be ok too Sad If you'd like to donate to help this family, please register and PM me. I'd think any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. They sound like a good family that just got overwhelmed with too many dogs. Sadly, just one litter of pups from a pair of unaltered dogs is all it takes to cause one VERY big problem. Prevention in the form of spay/neuter or simply rehoming the female is mandatory when you have both a male and female in the home. If you'll notice this is an OES message board that deals with dogs so that is the focus here. It doesn't mean the family is forgotten or that we don't care about them. It's got to be very difficult... but being out from under the demands/requirements of 7-9 dogs should also help them. The few people actively involved simply can't be expected to do it all. It requires people taking action to change the course of things... so please PM me. |
