Give me a call when you come back and we'll tackle it together! |
Congrats on the clean Bingley.
Definitely need to see pictures - we haven't seen any new Bingley picture since your vacation back home! I'm glad the dryer worked well for you. We used LeAnne's this week at the nationals and it really does work well. Much quieter than mine also, so I am sure Bingley appreciated that. |
Which dryer was this again? Was it this one?

Looking forward to the pictures of the super duper dried fuzzy kid.
Isnt a good dog dryer so much better & easier after a bath . |

Yeah - since school started again this year I've been super busy. I'm teaching 4 more classes than I did last year so I don't have as much time to do the "fun stuff" outside of school! |
Emily , better busy that bored , I am leaving in the morning for Holland for my judging asignment and when I am back you can help me groom |
What is the difference between using my hair dryer and a doggy dryer? I use mine. I keep it on the lowest heat setting and it seems to take quite a while although it gets the job done. Am I a bad mommy for using mine on Rheba? |
Not a bad mommie at all. The dog dryers have a lot more power and get the job done faster. It also straightens the hairs as you dry, giving a fluffier look. You should brush with a pin brush as you blow dry - helps seperate the hairs. |
I heard that if you brush while you dry it may break the hair. Rheba has curley hair. I have curley hair. I also know that if I brush my hair when I dry it, it hurts!! Does it hurt her like it hurts me? |

I was wondering this too!!! I have given Heart 4 baths since she arrived July 31st--- I wash her in the sink and use my hair dryer. I use a pin brush and try to line brush, (I try to see her skin and brush a little at a time.) She never cries and seems to really enjoy it. It takes me about 1 hour, but by the time she is done she is soooo FLUFFY and gorgeous!!!! I have NO hair in the brush and I don't understand why? Am I doing something wrong??? Shouldn't she lose hair?? Last week I bought myself a very early Christmas present...an Oester Stand Dryer..I found it on line and I got a GREAT deal on it... I haven't used it yet, But whe I do I will post pictures. |
Washing in the sink and using your hairdryer is just fine while they are little. Eventually as she grows and gets more hair it will be more time consuming and difficult to get her dry.
When you brush with the pin brush as you dry, you really won't get much hair, especially at her age. The correct order is a total brush out before the bath (dry dog) and then the bath and blowdry. That way you are drying and brushing a dog with few tangles. You really will not get much hair out. Just a nice fluffy dog. And congrats on the new dryer. You will love it and it will make life with an OES so much easier. I have an old model stand dryer and I love it!!! Here is a picture of Chewie with mine - of course he is reading the forum (chat actually) while under the dryer - See that little monitor - maybe you all will want to take up a collection for a new one for me!!! |

Here is a picture of Chewie with mine - of course he is reading the forum (chat actually) while under the dryer - I can't believe I did this, but when we were between dogs someone donated a big industrial style/quality stand dryer to NEOESR and Joan and I had the space in our car to bring it home and store it before it could be sold. It was offered to us for short money ($25? $50?) and we declined, so we wound up hauling it home, then hauling it to an auction. STUPID STUPID STUPID! |
