What cartoon character for OES and Beardie?

If you could assign a cartoon characters that best represents OES and Bearded Collies, what would you select?

Ditto!!
My Millie, who died 4 years ago was a therapy dog and we would go into Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. Millie was a VERY large Beardie, about as big as an OES and 90 pounds...

Some of the kids would be scared of her until I told them that she was Barkley's cousin...They would all say..."OH! Yea! She looks just like him" and then they would snuggle her.
Barkley from Sesame Street is the reason why I ever wanted an old english sheepdog in the first place!
Ok...we've talked about this character before, but I still can't remember the name.

Warner Bros. (I think) used to have a cartoon about a sheepdog and a coyote. One was George and one was Ralph.

They would "work" together....the sheepdog guarding the sheep, and the coyote trying to catch the sheep. At the end of the day, the work whistle would blow, and the two of them would clock out. And they'd walk off in the sunset together, as friends.

(Come on Ron...you know what I"m talking about!)
OK we agree, Barkley is a big shaggy dog with the walk and rearend-rumble, but I was thinking more along the lines of what CLASSICAL cartoon character (remember, I'm "seasoned") has the OES mental traits vs. what character has the Beardie traits.

For example: Pluto, Goofy, Roadrunner, Coyote, George of the jungle, Daffy, Bugs, Elmer Fudd, ???Sam--what was his first name?, Bullwinkle???

Maybe it's too bizarre to answer....or maybe I need to start watching children's shows
SAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was the sheepdog!!!

Oh yes, you definitely need to get caught up on the cartoons! There's powerpuff girls, catdog, and spongebob.... I think spongebob is like a sheepie!

 I'm just kidding. Yes, newer cartoons are weird... I definitely love the classics. Although, to me, classics are Strawberry Shortcake, Glowworms, Carebears, and Popples! :D
Stephanie....You're so darn young!!!! 8)
yup it was Sam and Ralph because we were going to name Blue, Ralph because we had Sami. Blue just did not look like a Ralph.
I have the cutest print ad framed. Its a Ralph Lauren ad. There's a sheepdog wearing a blue and red polo shirt, and across the bottom it says (in large letters) RALPH

I love it! (My dad's name was Ralph!)
maybe barney from flinestones. faithful sidekick. a little "not there" ...a little aloof, but always meaning well and thinking of food. don't ever remember him moving too fast either.

for new cartoons. PINKY from Pinky and the Brain. Pinky had no clue what was going on. When asked a question, he'd have the most ridiculous response. Always thinking positive. Not a negative bone in his body, and no matter how many times he was yelled at...he didn't get it. Just said something not so bright back.

i'm not sure about the beardie. it's early and can't think of a character aloof enough right now.
Yogi bear could be a good OES too.
How about Odie from Garfield?
that's a great one!!
Another vote for Sam... That cartoon RULES!!!
Pippin IS Odie from Garfield. He just loves those cats, and any time he's allowed near them... SLURP! I don't think they'd mind sending him to Timbuktu on occasion either (although I think that was normally Nermal, who got mailed away, wasn't it?)
How true!

Odie

Odie is a fictional character in the Jim Davis comic strip Garfield. He has also appeared in Garfield and Friends and two live-action feature films.

He is a kind but dumb yellow-furred, brown-eared beagle. In the live-action films based on the Garfield franchise, he is played by a dachshund. In the comic of August 26, 2007, Garfield describes Odie's species as "purebred clown" after trying to find out what kind of dog Odie is with the help of a book [1]

Odie usually slobbers in his appearances. Recently, as of 2000, he is seen walking on two feet instead of all fours, just like Garfield.
LOL  The Sam I was thinking about was Yosemite Sam. Never mind, you'll find me at Looneytunes.com enjoying my OLD favorites.
Definately Sam loved that cartoonie typical sheepie.
