Ashlan's riding the bus for the first time.

She gets out of school in less than 10 minutes. It is suppose to take about 15 minutes to get them loaded and another 15 minutes home. I am going to pace the floor for the next few minutes, I know.
This was not the plan....you see we were going to wait until she was older to ride the bus. She had other plans. She decided that when she turned 7 that she would try her luck again and ask if she could ride the bus now that she is 7 years old. I said, "no, I don't want you to be around the bigger kids, and she promptly let me know if they talk bad or anything that she can ignore them. I wasn't sure how to argue with this big kid logic and let her know she could ride home and I would still take her and little brother.
We have already discussed waiting out at the bustop for her to come home with our camera in our hand. We thought we might embarrass her though. We didn't want that so we have refrained ourselves and are only going to wait and wave like crazy over protective parents. 8O
That shouldn't embarrass her much. LOL
Well this post, was meant to take up some anxiety, but as seeing I still have 32 minutes left it wasn't as long as I needed.
Jack is doing great keeping me company. Annabelle is being a foot warmer while I type so I can't wear the floors thin. LOL

LOL Stormi... awww it's ok ! *hugs*
Oh wow, I can't beleive you caved!!! LOL It'll be fine! Just tell her to go on last, so she is in the front and away from any bratts. This way she can get out nice and easy, and all the kids who get out before her won't bother her if she is sitting next to the matron! LOL This is so exciting! She is such a big girl! Tell us how it went! How was her birthday!!!!!!!
She did everything like a pro! She said it was a wiggly ride, but she hung on. LOL She was so excited telling us all about getting to sit next to the window, and one of the neighbor girls who is in 4th grade sat next to her and looked out for her.
She had piano tonight also, and asked if she could be a big girl and go inside for practice. I let her, and sat out in the van and waited for her. It is only 30 minutes, so not bad.
I take it 7 years old is the age when they start wanting freedom away from us crazy parents???? I am going to have a heart attack before she gets 8. LOL
Her party was great! She was our princess! She got a lot of cool thing from her friends. I walked her into school today and one of the boys who came to the party was telling his other friend "this is the girl I was talking about, Ashlan, she had an awesome party!" This is the same boy that has came over before spouting that he knows Ashlan likes cats and princess'. I think someone might have a crush on my daughter already. I guess he isn't quite old enough for Daddy to show off a gun or knife collection just yet.
Well, there has been lots of firsts this year for my kids. I can't say I have handled it well, but at least I handled it. LOL Until next time, and thanks for the encouraging works. Stormi and co.
LOL sounds like a big step for a nervous parent! I think my parents walked me to the bus stop once when I started kindergarten, and after that I was on my own. Glad to hear things went so well for her. :D
