He is a little monster and have no desires to 'show' but just wondering how they are judged cause they all look like beauties to me. |

Anyone can show their dog, as long as they are intact and haven't bitten a judge. But in general, if you, or your breeder, believes your dog represents a close comparison to the OES standards (size, gate, structure proportions, etc) then you can jump into the ring and have a chance to succeed.
Confirmation is about judging your dog against the set OES standards, not just on appearance. A skilled breeder/groomer/handler can easily hide the faults, like bone structure, stance, size, proportions, etc. But hopefully a even more knowledgable judge is there to decipher what is hidden under the hair. |

Nigel's breeder suggest's we give it a try...but the biting comment sure seems like it could apply to both. I am going to a handling class tonight to let my youngest try it out. Just don't know if I could ever keep up a show coat...scary! |
