My 6 month old does that. We had to get a halti for the lead and it has mostley stopped. It does work. BUT do not leave it on in the house. Then use a reg. collor. Good luck. |
Duch is 11 mos and a boucey, loveable, mischevious, jumping sheepie who I can't control on a regular collar and leash but once the Gentle Leader is on she is a perfect lady when out on our walks |
I just got a gentle leader, have not gotten on a walk(rain) but in the house when family comes over and Sami goes crazy, I put it on and she calm down, she also tried to get ot off, but she stopped when I held it. |
Are you taking her to any classes? You might want to look into them.....
We started about 2 weeks ago when Heart was 14 weeks old and she is doing so well on our walks. Puppy classes are also good "immediate problem" solvers. We spend the first 15 minutes of class talking about any concerns, such as jumping or barking and how to positively correct any unaccepted behaviour. Between this forum and the classes Heart is progressing very nicely. |
Thanks she starts puppy class this Thursday (well hubby by himself first week) so that might help. Gentle leaders are they the same as UK halti? |

Yes just a different brand. If you get either make sure it is a padded one. I didn't know and the one I got wasn't so it rubbed a little bit. |
