Well- with that addition- the kitchen needed a warmer feel. Most recent- it has been more Victorian- with old lace and china displayed. Just didn't do the harvest table justice. So... I removed the lace and brought out the crocks and Earthenware, old bowls and such. Still- not quite right. Well- ok- let's order a new rug for under the table. Much better- but still... Humm... well of course... it's the wall paper. Order new paper- hang it- live with it a day. Hate it. The browns are the wrong hue. Remove the paper. Order new- hang it... you guessed it- still not right. WHY DO I DO THIS!???? They seem right when we choose .. or should I say when I choose. John is just shaking his head. So- I ordered new again today- with input from the family yesterday. I am using a soft carmel brown for the top of the walls- and the paper is burgandy/ carmel / beige/ green plaid- going up 40 inches with a 3 inch border. I am going a bit farther up than normal because of the ladder back chairs being tall. The border is a coordinating floral. Wood floors- hickory cabinets. Old Hoosier- and very basic ivory cotton curtains. John told me this morning this is it. Live with it. Who can blame him??? I will share pictures- but - those of you that are in the profession and great at visualizing the results- What do you think. The paper is Sunworthy- Kitchen and Bath Coordinates. Page 238 and 240. Paint is Benjamin Moore- Carmel Sauce. I am now wondering if the paint isn't way too dark... Stop me before I take the first brush stroke if you think so!! |

Yes- it is a sickness I have sleepless nights and headaches worrying about it all being "just right" Crazy. ravenmoonart wrote: It sounds lovely! Oh I would LOVE to! That would be wonderful- I could meet you in Alaska ( the one place I am dying to travel to) splurge on your artwork- see the furkids and hubby and then we could decorate! When are you free? My kitchen should done by Christmas... To make things even more confusing Dad is in the process of making a fireplace mantel for the Kitchen. I'll use an electric flame etc. I feel the headache coming on again. |
Maybe you need to ban your dad from making things! |
