Office visit including 1 vaccine, $39, an additional vaccine, $another $29. Office visits near our new house, about $60 plus another $30 for the first vaccine!!!!! I know we moved closer to NYC, but my god. I wish Pooh didn't get car sick, I'd have no problem driving out to see the good Dr., especially since they are building a new facility. What do you pay? |

A trip to the vet for a check up vaccines costs me 97.00 includng deworming. I then pay 60.00 a year for advantage flea drops, and if I was going to put them on heartguard it would be another 60.00, that's all per dog. The cats cost maybe 5 dollars less. lol |
I haven't broke it up into individual cost, but we just recently took all of our's in for vet check and vaccines, except for Marie who got a vet check, ultrasound, and x-ray. The vet check included clipping toenails, cleaning ears, expressing anal glands, and the fecal I believe. All of that was 450.00. That didn't include any of the meds and stuff. I have checked around to different places and this seemed really reasonable. They are the only 24/7 vet in our state. They are up to date on all of the latest, but still listen to me when I have a concern over a vaccine or med. They also have a forum to ask general vet questions and such. I only wish we would of found them sooner. This is an interesting question.

for roo's last set of shots, it was $68, for his first (second set) visit, it was, uhh, $87? But I had to get blossom's pills so knock $12 off of that. My roomie keeps telling me to go to shot clinics, but I really think it's better to stay with your one vet (he's been my dogs' vet for over 17 years), because he KNOWS your dog, its quirks, etc.
you should see what I pay the avian vet i find it hard to get out of his office for under $100. That's per bird. I have nine birds!! |
Wow, 9 birds? Must be a noisy house! So I guess anyone in the area would like the number to my vet? He really is so great, and gentle with our 2 that it's hard to say goodbye....I think I'll continue going there with the cat since she's better in the car. |
Here are some recent charges I've encountered:
Office visit: $32.50 Treatment excluding sutures, meds, etc: $75.00 per hour Cephalexin Capsules 500 mg $26.70 We live in an economically depressed area otherwise the bill would be a lot higher. |
Where we lived, Flemington, NJ, in my eyes was kinda in the middle of no where, unless you count outlet stores. I just find it amazing that because we moved closer to NYC--but still a ways away, the prices are that much higher! |
I am actually very lucky! My vet is very reasonable. When I take max in for a visit, and he receives meds, or shots, the office visit is waived (normally $24). One time I took him in with a ear thingy, and it was cheaper for me to have him get a shot of antibiotic, intead of paying the vet visit, so the Dr did that, and it also cleared up the infection quicker, but was not necessary. Also on a followup visit, there is no charge. I don't remember exactly what my shots were, but I'd say the once a year batch run me about $40 for the entire visit, but I am not positive, but I will know soon, because he is due soon. The place I take him is very friendly, but they do not spend their money on the looks, so it helps us out. All my friend pay much more than I do. |
