How soon after eating should you wait before exercising?

The question pretty much says it all really! I picked up Joe today and the last 6 hours have been great, he's lovely and I am instantly hooked! We just fed him and he seems to get quite energetic afterwards. He's currently giving me evil looks as I'm clearly not moving to take him out!

I've read that you should wait about an hour or so after they've eaten (letting them out in the garden is meant to be okay) to take them for a walk/run. Do you guys have any suggestions/input? If so, I'd love to hear it...thanks, gill :)

ps. he also gets quite 'randy' and is finding my husband's leg quite appealing!!!
Did I miss how old? To house train, take them out immediately after each meal......you gotta move quick sometimes :o !!

I'm assuming this is a small puppy.............Make the trip outside solely for peeing and pooping and praise greatly after each successful trip. They will be rather playful right after feeding. I like to bring them in so they quickly associate being outside with body functions. Any play should be low key. Soon they will be ready for a nap. After nap, it's right back outside for same reason......peeing and pooping. Praise and then play, play, play.

How "randy?" Are we talking humping or just chewing? Both should be discouraged of course. If it is just playing, remember, that's what's close to their mouth.....little suckers like to grab on to encourage play. There are other, less painful ways.
