Shamu ate my underwear

Hi, Shamu hasn't done this in a really long time and now I'm worried sick. I 've been so careful too. I took a shower this morning. I layed my clothes out on the bath room counter and I always shove my underwear all the way to the back. When I got out of the shower they were gone. I look every where. Do you think I should make her throw up or just wait till she passes them. I hate it when she does this. What do you guys think I should do?

when you say underies. bra and pantys?, is the any mrtal or plastic on your bra. Call the vet.
Call the vet, was it just your knickers? They might suggest something to give her to make it slide through without lodging or causing a blockage in her system.

Keep a close eye on her, watch that she is pooping OK and watch for any signs of her being unwell, trying to vommit, excessive drooling at the mouth, raise in temp with her, not interested in food, lethargic etc. Just generally not herself.

Talk to the vet and see what he suggests there to help it pass.
How is Shamu this morning?
I hope you were able to reach the vet.
Ah, I'm sorry. Shamu must be related to my Sybil. I would definitely keep a close watch, but it may just go right through. Any vomiting that doesn't include said undies, listlessness, refusal to eat, I'd take her to the vet. I've learned that they can pass things you, hm, wouldn't think would go through. Though if she swallowed them whole, I would definitely be concerned. But, you know, worst case, they can be removed.

I seem to recall that Madeline Ericksson had a girl who used to eat socks. And I mean as a matter of course. And then redeposit them. I forget which way they'd reappear. Last I heard she lived to a very ripe age, but, yes, that kind of thing is scary.

You know, we buy them expensive premium food, expensive premium treats and wonderful toys and still they have to act like the foragers of their ancestors :P

You're definitely NOT alone when it comes to dogs getting into things they shouldn't.

I was on the phone yesterday with my credit card company about some fraudulent charges (the morons messed with the US Postal Service... if they catch them for the six fraudulent charges totally over $1,200+ it will be a FEDERAL offense). Jim comes around the corner with some chewed up green stuff in his hand. Yeah, Lisa... it was the soap... dumb me had left it on the edge of the tub after washing Darby's face again. I wonder if they make it in a soap-on-a-rope version so I could hang it up?

This morning, Jim had set a bag of garbage down and had gone downstairs for a minute. I hear this odd noise like toenail chewing and I think oh, NO... not the foot licking/chewing again. It was Panda again but this time with the end of an onion from the beef stew I made yesterday. Hubby got chewed out about the perils of onions  though he didn't chew me out about the soap... shame of me.

Tightening up the security measures in the house again because of our beloved Pandi. I know it's a pain in the neck but is there a shelf, hook or drawer you might put small articles of clothing in while you shower? Thankfully the only thing Panda steals when I'm showering is the towel. 8O
Just the "knickers"? All down, NOT A SHRED LEFT 8O

I would watch him for normal bowel movements today and tomorrow, maybe even give him a small amount vegatable oil on his food to keep things loose.

If he looks to be straining at all, has diahrrhea (can be the sign of an intestinal blockage as liquid stool passes and solids don't) or does not have his usual bowel movement GO TO THE EMERGENCY VET.

Is it possible that he carried them off someplace? I would find it odd that in the amount of time it took you to shower he managed to eat them in their entirety. Is it possible he has stashed them somewhere???

Dogs are very attracted to underwear, I think it's "scent" thing. I have noticed that even washed and folded they are a temptation. I use a laundry hamper for dirty clothes and don't get the clothing out of the drawer til I am ready to get dressed.
Hi everybody, Shamu is acting fine she is going #2 ok no problems. When I get home from work today I am going to check more spots I thought of when I was trying to sleep last night the wierd thing is she has never eaten clean ones (isn't that gross). It was just the nickers. She is acting normal as normal really is. thanks for all your suggestions and all your stories. I'll let you guys know what happens.
Last time Mulligan ate a pair of Joan's unmentionables, he puked them up in her car 2 days later.

I'm not sure which of the 102 comments that run around in my head about that I should use here, so I'll just end now.

Glad Shamu is still doing OK, just keep a real close eye on her still for at least several days. Keeping fingers crossed it will pass soon, which end it will be I wonder :lmt:

Jaci it smells good, wonder what it tastes like 8O  What a little minx she is. Soap on a rope you definately need that one. :P
I'm really greatful that this forum exists and it's members are so honest. I learn a lot from all your experiences. I will definately be more watchfull of Hudson (6 months) around socks. He loves to play with them and pull them out of the hamper. It never occured to me that he would try to swallow the thing. Once again, thanks for sharing all your personal accounts.
Hi I just wanted to tell everyone that Shamu is doing great. I haven't found where she threw up yet but she is totally acting normal. I'm stopping in the vets tomorrow to get her pills (for her leakage problem) and I'll let them know how she is too. thank you guys for everything
