Awwww... she does look rather sheepie to me too. The blue eyes with the
black rims, the look of her ears, her shaggy coat. Such a cutie... I hope she
finds her home soon. They say she's been there since August 21st :(

PS- I love your avatar with the little peanut-pup sitting between the two shaggy beauties :D
weird- they have her listed as a pit bull!
Why in the heck would they list that little fluffball as part pitbull? It must be a mistake.
Clearly whoever identified her breed does not know much about pitbulls. She's got the sweetest face. Wish she were closer to me. :?
I wrote to the shelter earlier this morning and mentioned some of the
similarities this little girl has to an OES. That maybe if she were listed
under a new Petfinder breed she might find her new family.

I gave them this link too

Maybe this girl was listed by the surrendering owner as a PB mix on the
turn-in sheet? Maybe the people doing the Petfinder listings aren't the same
ones that see the actual dogs so they have to rely strictly on what's on the
paper they're writing from? They must handle SO many unwanted pets... I
had wondered if maybe Pit Bull was directly under OES but it's down about
9 listings so it wasn't an accidental click.
:lmt:

I hope she finds her match with a loving and patient family. :hearts:
Definitely a Poodle Mix and I agree on OES because of the eye color and facial looks. Where would they get Pit from??
In my non expert opinion it is a Apricot Poodle and a OES Mix.
Linda Lou is listed in the Old English Sheepdog section :D
I hope it will help her new family finder her :plead:

The Western Pennsylvania Humane Society in Pittsburgh (the same shelter that has Linda Lou) also has another baby looking for a home. His name is Spirit and he
kinda has a sex change as his/her story's told  He/she sounds like a doll :D

"...Spirit is a spunky and fun loving gal. She enjoys wiggling and being close
to her humans. She needs an owner who will help build her confidence level..."
In the all about her section she's still listed as a Poodle/Pit Bull. :?
hooray:) Hope she'll find a new home soon. so cute *sigh* I showed her picture to jeff and he said "NO MORE DOGS!!!" aww.

It's definitely good to know your limits

You're right, Jaci. There are so many ways for dogs to be mis-identified and my comment was inappropriate & mostly one of frustration. Shelter workers have difficult jobs, that personally, I know I could never do. :(

I appreciate you taking the time to contact the shelter and get the listing corrected. I believe it will give her a better chance of being placed in the correct home. :D

Tammy PLEASE don't think I was chastising anyone :o
I completely understand what you said. These furry kids need to be listed
appropriately or perspective families simply won't know they exist and this
reduces their chances at finding a home.

I'm doing another PF page for a long distance rescue and I don't get to
see these dogs nor observe behavior so I can only rely on words provided
to me in an email or over the phone. I guess this is why I could understand
how the boo-boo might have occurred

If you happen to see a sheepie mislabel as a Pomeranian in OES rescue, please let me know!! 8O
Not at all. :D I just realize that your hands-on, active approach is much more positive and helpful. :D

I love you all!

That was way cool... hard feelings from misunderstanding avoided.

Can I take lessons?
