Also I received a free sample of Hartz's flea & tick drops. I asked my vet if it was safe. He said that the ingredients are safe, but not effective. I tried it & it burnt Fergus' back. I am thinking allergic reaction. I immediatle washed him w/ dawn & the yard hose, whew! No more samples for me. That was scary!!!!! Has anyone had success w/ natural flea & tick products??? In NJ we have lots of ticks, so I need to use something. Thx! |

I normally would say absolutely NO (for me) in regards to medicine on ebay, but if it's from a reputable seller like jbpets, PetCareRx, or other pet stores you recognize, I would. Many companies have sellers online for overstock stuff.
As far as Hartz flea/tick type stuff, I've been told by many vets that it's extremely strong, so harmful for some dogs (particularly small ones). Their flea collars have made many dogs sick! My vets have always said to avoid Hartz products!! And the reaction your dog had was an allergic reaction just as you said. My maltese reacted the same way to another topical ointment. Except her back got so red, she just bled in pain! Now we only give her pills because seeing her go through that much pain at only 6lbs was enough to scare anyone. |
I would NOT buy anything like meds or frontline, etc from Ebay. Don't get me wrong, I am an Ebay addict BUT the products sold are cheaper for a reason. We had a recent news report about Frontline and things like Advantix, etc being sold on Ebay and they were made in China and not a product of the USA. People were cautioned not to use them for fear they were tainted.
Buy from a vet or reputable retailer. what you save at E Bay you will make up for double with vet bills. |
You can buy Frontline at your local Petco if you have one nearby. It was a few dollars cheaper than what my local vet sold it for. |
ou can get frontline from chemists in the Uk...bit cheaper. Got a worming tablet for the puppy..it worked our at just under £5 with VAT!! She hadnt better spit it out! |
