Which I believe was connected to the neglect that he suffered before he came here to live. I think that after he, like Topsy just kept growing and growing so he was pretty much just stuck in someone's yard and left alone, he was very, very thin and matted, probably not brushed since he was a puppy if then. Anyway about the ears, Gabriel did not like the medicine being put in his ears, so when I got the tube, and he alway saw me with it because he is always with me, he would casually start to walk away, then look back over his shoulder walking faster and faster when he saw me behind him, straight to the doggie dog and outside. I finally had to hide the ear med. in my pocket. Gabriel is also very jealous of Savannah the hairless dog's sweaters and Tshirts we live in Louisiana, USA it doen't get cold enough here for a Sheepie to need a sweater or shirt, but Gabriel wants one(hey I'm his mommy I can tell)he tries to pull Savannah's shirts off her, I'm thinking of a nice tie-dye shirt for him, just so he can look really, really cool. I agree with you on that one! How old is Gabriel? You mentioned pound "puppy" and now between you and ratsbaby, I've been dreaming about OES puppies (literally)! I'm pretty sure Tucker will always be my "puppy", no matter what his age. He just turned 11 months old yesterday, so he'll be a year old soon! Time flies... Suzanne |
Good, so I'm not the only one dreaming about little OES pups! Nelson does somewhat of the same thing. He never likes to go back in our hallway when it's getting close to bed time, he knows he'll have to go in his kennel. So usually I have to carry him into bed, let's hope this doesn't keep up until he's 100 pounds! Speaking of which I was at my neighbor's house, showing him off, the first night he came home and he said that Nelson would get up to 120 pounds because of his huge paws! I'm thinking he was exaggerating a little bit because Nelson's dad was only about 100 pounds but it gave me a little scare!

Gabriel is 2 1/2 to 3 years according to the vet. Since he was just abandoned at the shelter. I'm not sure exactly how old. He was adopted Sept. 26. So we may celebrate that day as his Bday

That's wonderful!
Our Jake was adopted (from NEOESR) September 30th, and his birthday is October 25th. He turned 3 about a month after we were blessed by his presence. We always celebrate both days! I hope Gabriel brings you as much joy as Jake has brought to us. Ron, Joan & The Irrepressible Jakester. |
Ah, Trish! He's lucky to have you!! I hope you can post pictures soon!

Hmmm...I don't know exactly how much Tucker weighs but I found his paws *always* looked huge when he was a puppy (and they still do) -- but then again, my sisters and sister-in-law all have Shih Tzus! I don't know if this is true about the paws or if it's an old wives tale? Anybody else? Suzanne |
I think I'm lucky to have Gabriel he such a sweetie. I have a couple of pictures taken back in Oct. or early Nov. and one taken at the shelter when I first saw him. He looks so pitiful in that one. I will take some more when I find my camera(I hope I didn't put it in a safe place [/i][/b] if I did I'll most likely need to buy a new camera, b/c I'll probably never see it again. Anyway someone tell me how to post his pictures here, I would love for ya'll to see my handsome boy. Trish |

Trish[/i] Hi Trish - We would love to see your picture of Gabriel, the handsome boy (and Guinevere is drooling in anticipation!). Just go to the "profile" link (it's at the top any of the main pages, in the section where you logon.) The last choice is to choose an avatar, just click the browse button, and choose to upload a picture from your computer to the website. Bingo - there you go! Looking forward! Cheers! Hi Trish. We have been dealing with a yeast infection for about four months. Whenever we open the cabinet door to get Boof's medicine, he lowers his head, walks into the dinning room and stands under the table. He acts like he is on a covert mission, except he really doesn't fit under that table! The vet recommended removing the inner hair, but Boof isn't having any of that, so we are continuing with the medication and daily cleanings. Hydrogen Poroxide really helps remove alot of the brown staining. Good Luck.
