Looking for a puppy
I cant believe how many people breed these dogs at home. So many of them for sale. The average price of sheepdog puppies is $500 cad. (no papers). I spoke with our local oes rescue. Her name is Margaret . Our Watson really liked her. She was his favorite groomer. She use to breed oes but she has stopped for this year. I asked her to recommend a good breeder. She was really great and she gave us a list. I found 2 great breeders and they actualy recommened each other  .
The average price of an oes from these breeders is $1,400. But we have to wait till December or January. We were tempted to buy the $500.00 puppies but we will wait till December. |

Where to turn... 
On one hand there are alot of BYB's in my area but I was scared to go that route..read alot on this forum about puppy mills and BYB's and the medical and social problems you can have -- And although I knew I would save money on the purchase...there was a greater chance that I would spend much more on treatment in years to come. I decided that purchasing from a quality breeder would be the most responsible thing to do---The chances of having problems are less and if there are problems, I know my breeder will be by my side every step of the way. I have been in constant contact with her ever since my puppy came 4 weeks ago. She knows so much about the breed and about my puppy and we both want the very best for her. I just wanted you to know you have alot of people here you can count on for great advice and moral support in your quest for your furrykid. |

| I agree...and my puppy was even more than that! He is awesome, and I am so glad that I went through the OESCA breeder referral. This is my 5th and the closest I have ever had to the standard. They have all been wonderful, but it really is cool when your pup looks more like the breed you feel in love with. Can't wait to see the new baby...keep us posted. |
