About three years ago we got oneof those super thick mattresses with the cushion on top...hate it! first, no sheets fit and the ones that do cost a bundel! second, the cushion thing on top is useless...We should ahve gotten the regular flat type mattress...
brand wise, its hard to tell. People like different types.. you really ahve to go to the store and lay on a few....have you checked out that "sleep number" bed? That's what I want! |

I don't find that to be an issue at all. None of them cost a bundle either. Walmart even sells 400-tc deep pocket sheets for cheap! Maybe you had one with a super cushion on top!! |
ok I read the 3 page posts ,,,No help. To tell you the truth I want my waterbed back. Never had one pain. It was after we had a fire we had to let it go. Thats when we got a good mattress. It is 14 yrs old. I have Never liked it. |
I'd get a lawyer concerning your other problem before considering new purchases at this point. His retainer fee may take a lot of your cash on hand. The main reason I caution you of this because we bought a bed last weekend and wound up spending almost $4000-- and that wasn't even the most expensive option! |
We bought a new bed last year. We bought a pillow top Serta. Its really nice and comfy. I still have hip pain, but that's a different issue. The mattress is very think (16 inches, I think). I've had good luck finding sheets at Kohl's that didn't break the bank. I'm very pleased with my bed. Good luck, hon! |
We have a Select Comfort (sleep number) bed, and I absolutely LOVE it!! I have back problems and I've hardly ever woken up with pain since we've gotten it (about 3 years now). If I do wake up with pain, I just adjust the firmness and viola! No more pain.
It may not be for everyone, but I'd never buy another regular mattress set again. |
BEAUTY REST Exceptionale King size pillow top, the most wonderful mattress ever made. I day dream about sleeping A bit pricey at almost $5,000 but worth EVERY penny. I will never buy a "cheap" mattress again. |
My mattress didn't even have a brand name anywhere on it... I got it for $200.00 (both box sproings and mattress)... I really think you get what you pay for because my bed is terrible |
Sterns and Foster.....i LOVE my bed...pillow top, but extra firm!! |
Mine is a no-name mattress too. Todd wanted a firm mattress. Well, this one was so hard I couldn't sleep on it anymore. I woke up feeling like I had gotten beat up! I started sleeping on my really comfy couch.
I tried an eggcrate foam mattress - not enough. I bought one of those memory foam mattress overlays - and it works!!! Todd has the firm support his back needs, and I have the cushion I need. Pretty cheap solution too. |
We have a Sealy Posterpedic Rosellini model - King Size.
It is 18 inches thick. I believe it has 4 inches of padding on each side of the mattress. So far so good. It's been 4 years. I was able to find sheet sets at Bed Bath and Beyond for $39.99 Not just regular sheets, but European Cotton. I think I picked up some regular sheets from Walmart for about $15. The only problem I have is finding is what the size which they call "Eastern King" here. I guess it's not a very popular size here. California Kings are narrower and seem to fit better in the small houses here in California. But I prefer the extra width in the Regular King Size. |
I have personally experienced wonderful nights of sleep on these brands.
Sealy posturepedic Simmons beauty rest Serta I think our current mattress king size is a sealy and we've had it at least 14-15 years. At the time we bought it it was priced just over the medium range. Not high end but just above the middle. It is still very comfortable. It's extra tall but does not have a separate pillow top. |

It may not be for everyone, but I'd never buy another regular mattress set again. We are VERY happy with our Select Comfort (best purchase ever). My chiropractor noticed my hip was so much better that he went out and purchased one as well. He is very satisifed with the bed especially since chiros get a 40% discount |

Gosh - maybe I should ask my chiro to purchase one for me. |
