I buy little stuffed animals at one of the dollar stores in town. I buy pressed rawhide chew sticks in bulk, and tennis balls by the dozen. LOL Marrowbones are the treat of choice, so I buy huge bags of them as well. Spoiled? Noooooo, not my dogs! |
We're spoiled rotten in the small town we live in. There are a few second hand stores with tons of stuffed animals. When I stop buy, sometimes with one of the dogs, they just give some of them to us because they can't get rid of them The small ones work the best. They last longer!! go figure. For something special I will buy one that makes noise. We go through LOTS of beef soup bones too but they almost never chew on anything they shouldn't. My fiance is a butcher tho and they love to clean his shoes when he comes over after work. The kitten love his shoes too.

HaHa! My youngest cat LOVES my husbands shoes- he's not a butcher though- he's a security guard and a National Guardsman. Maybe it's all those do-gooder vibes? She rubs all over them, plays with the laces, hides balls in them... it drives him crazy |
Our local pet shelter had a garage sale and we picked up a lot of great toys and accessories. It was great! The dogs had a great time too, because the dog park and agilty is right there too. Annie is our agility girl, she loves it and is really good at all of it except weaving the poles. She hasn't figured that out yet. Jack will tunnel and jump on the platform, but that is it, he despises everything else.
Thanks Marley for letting me know about ebay, I would have never thought to look there. Stormi and co. |
No problem, Stormi! That's what friends are for! lOL How is your little girl doing? How is the birthday party planning going? |
Hi Marley,
Ashlan is better and will get to go to school again tomorrow. She kept getting fever back again. Now, Joey missed today from fever, I figure he will get it soon. My husband goes into surgery in the morning. He is having part of his shoulder bone and clavicle bone removed. OUCH! I am going to be exhausted. I am very blessed with a husband who helps out with everything, but now I get to pamper him for a few weeks. We have the kids birthdays at a place called Dymamo Gymnastics. They have a 3 story playzone with slides and ball pits, lots of fun things. Sort of like Chuckie Cheese or Discovery Zone if you have ever heard or seen them before. She is having a Disney princess party and we have a pretty tiara for her as her party hat. I will let you know how stressed I am if all 22 kids show up that we invited. She talked us into keeping a kitten. See I had planned on keeping one IF we produced one with perfect markings, but after much pleading and begging to keep one and it be a birthday present for her......she won. We are keeping baby C.....and I was planning on a name, but she insisted on naming and if you have ever watched The Aristocats you can only imagine what name this baby has......Duchess. Duchess (in the movie) was actually Berlioz, Marie, and Toulouse's mom. We did things a little backwards with the names, but oh well. Sorry for going off on rambling, but thank you for asking. Stormi and co. |
spoiled? what's that???
/me looks at her dog's $150 dog bed, the laundry basket full of toys, and the two shelves in the pantry devoted to dog treats i don't know what spoiled is!! |
I am glad that Ash is feeling better! Princess party, hah! LOL I used to paint little stools and plaques as gifts for friends...Let me know which princess is her favorite, and i will see what I can do.. LOL Yeah, I figured that Joey is going to catch whatever his sis had...that's the norm I understand with kids. I love the name she chose! I think its so appropriate for the a beautiful fluffy kitten! LOL I can't wait to get those toys, Mopsey has pretty much destroyed the onces we bought a few months ago. I had a few 99c toys, and they just don't last as long as the doggie ones. Yeah, I know what you mean about spoiled, TotallyRoofus! LOL My house is the same way! She has more toys then any two kids I know. LOL Well, maybe not, but she is close! I just can't resist buying something for her and the kitten brothers when I go shopping! |
I spoke to soon about Ash......when I picked her up at school, the teacher came out and said that Ashlan hadn't felt well all day. (I can't figure out why they didn't call me.) I live 3 minutes away from the school and she was in tears the entire way. As soon as I get home I check her temp and it is 103.8. I took her to a different doctor and just got home a bit ago. The antibiotic isn't working and she changed her antibiotic to one that hopefully will work. The doc thought allergies were the root of it all and asked about any cats or dogs. (It should have been and not or.)LOL
Anyway, I think I actually saw her stiffen when Ashlan pipes in I have 4 cats and 4 kittens and my parents let me keep one of the kittens for my birthday. Then of course she asked about dogs too, in which she happily replied 2. She asked Ashlan if she had 4 cats and 4 kittens how many cats all together. OF course Ashlan gave the right answer, but I was thinking if you have 20 lbs of sheepdog hair and 10 lbs of Ragdoll hair...how many times have you visited the doctor over this in the last year. LOL The doctor said she wants to see us back in 2 weeks to talk about ways to help the allergies and to help her not get sick so much. I kept thinking if that was just a polite way of saying we get to talk about all of those furries living in your house. If this doctor thinks we will part with any of them she is mistaken. I hope I am just getting worked up from lack of sleep. Who knows she might be an animal lover who would never suggest such a thing. I am rambling again aren't I ? I am going to go fix dinner for the family. I am signing this post Sleepy Stormi. |
Ohh, I am sorry about Ashlan!!! I doubt that allergies will cause a fever. But I am not a doctor. Poor baby. I hope these antibiotics work, and she will feel better for her birthday party! How is Joey? |
Keep up your spirit Stormi! There are so many things which can be done for allergies now a days, it down right foolish to give up your fluffy family unless it is a complete and unpreventable danger! Between allergy meds, air filters, etc there are so many ways to keep the dander and fur out of the air!! At this point, is the Dr. sure it is allergies (did she recommend Ashlan get allergy tested?) or is it just a conjecture? Either way, I hope everybody is feeling better at your place! |
