My window smashed!!
Glass everywhere!! I thought I had been shot! Turns out a guy was using a strimmer to cut the grass next to the road and a stone flew up and hit my window. Luckily the Council are paying for it, but in the meantime I have a perspex window stuck in with Blue Tac (not very nice in the wind and rain we have here at the moment) and it looks really obvious as all the other windows are tinted. The glass people said it could be a few weeks before they get the replacement. I looked really silly today when I got out of the car to get the parking ticket instead of just opening the window. I'm sure everyone must have cursed me- they hate women 4x4 drivers here without me looking stupid as well!! 
AND I keep finding bits of glass stuck in my hands  |

| That is really scary. I hate loud noises and that would have given me heart failure. I'm glad you're o.k. and hope your window gets replaced ASAP. |
| Wow, I'm really glad you weren't hurt. Sorry about the car though. Here in the States you don't get that sort of thing paid for... I was driving on an Interstate and a rock came off a dump truck and broke my windshield but I have to pay for it from my own pocket

Frightening and inconvenient!  Glad you're okay, though. I guess it could have been much worse. Thank God you didn't have a wreck, too. |

Luckily you weren't injured by the flying glass or the rock! What a freak accident and I can imagine the shock you must have felt when the window shattered. Years ago I was mowing the lawn, a rock came flying out and hit my son who was just 4 as he just happened to come out of the house. I had to race him to emergency. Scared the heck otta me so afterwards I always made sure I used a grass catcher and now just use a push mower. Good lesson for everyone as although in a case such as yours totally unexpected but just so people are aware rocks are like bullets when they fly out of a mower. Marianne |
| I just got the window fixed, the guy said they only had one piece of that particular glass as my car is quite unusual
He did a good job, got all the broken glass out of the inside of the door and gave the glass a clean afterwards too. Could have done without the hassle but hey ho  |
