I should really say it is more of a brown secretion from the eyes.... |
Hi congratulations on your new addition, really hard to say what it could be conjunctavitis, tear duct problems, entropion, allergy, inflammation and the list goes on as to what could cause the eyes to weep..
Puppy eyes should always be clear and bright to look at with no redness there and no gooey or watery discharge coming from them, just the normal crusty sleep that can accumulate in the corner of the eye, which is easily picked off. Glad you are off to the vets next week, in the meantime if it is really discharging a lot of gunk, take some saline solution, dip a cotton wool ball into it and wipe the eyes twice a day, starting from the top corner on the outer side of the lid as you do one swish down across the eye to the bottom inside corner of the eye lid, then wipe with a dry piece of cotton wool the same way. That should help to stop the discharge from causing staining under the eyes on the hair there and help keep the area clean & free of the discharge buildup in the corner of the eyes till a vet can check it out. Best wishes with everything. |
