I saw the original many years ago with a fat Rikki Lake. It was very entertaining but I'm not sure why someone felt a remake was necessary. |

Me too! I have a Divine magnet on my fridge from Polyester! "Wow, Todd, that's pretty highbrow..." |
Well, we went and saw it yesterday! We sat down and it started playing, right off with a song. My hubby turns to me and says," Is this a muiscal?" !!!!! I laughed out loud. So he does happend to have a legit hearing problem and thought we were all going to see Harry Potter! He fell asleep on my shoulder oh, about 15 minutes into it
I didn't really like it. I did see Rikki Lake as one of the Agents in the audience, and i would have never placed that it you guys hadn't told me that she was in the orginal. Ya so i would say one thumb up and one thumb dowm-i'm just not be big musical fan. Ren M |
I have a question regarding John Travolta's part in the movie. First let me say I have not seen the movie yet. My question is what is the signifigants of John Travolta dressing/playing a woman in this film? Does a man usually play this part? I am just really curious.
Thank you in advance for any of your insight. |
I saw the movie several weeks ago, and it was very cute. It wasn't gross, drag-queenish at all. John Travolta as the mom was actually pretty funny.
My mom told me that traditionally that part is always played by a man (in the broadway performance). He does a good job in it. Hairspray is one of those feel-good movies and you'll leave feeling warm fuzzies. |
