It's a fun day with a lovely meal included. This year we are all dining at a beautiful old Tudor Mansion in the Mountains. A yummy 3 course meal and a nice roast for the main meal on a cold winters day in front of a big open fire. Always a great fun day with sheepie people, family and friends . People donate many goodies for the club and inbetween the meal courses the auctioneer, auctions off the goodies. Collectables, sheepie stuff and lots of other things too. Everything auctioned off, every dollar raised goes to help the club and the work they do in everything sheepie. So wish us luck that we again raise heaps to help keep all things sheepie going. Will post some pictures of the day to share with you all. Woo Hoo, goodies to buy Now I only have to find room for more stuff and hope hubby does not notice any new additions. |

Sounds like it will be a blast! Have a wonderful time! |
Here is a link for the venue we are pigging out at tomorrow. Think of us suffering with over eating, drinking and BUYING/BIDDING in these surroundings.
I am driving up, mom is driving home Hic Hic. Hopefully with a car full of goodies. http://www.marybrooke.com.au/ |

Although your snuggling up by the warm fire threw me for a minute! As we are sweating in the summer heat...... Have fun, eat up, drink merry - (not too merry!) and buy some cool stuff to support the dogs. Pictures!!! |

Gosh -that sounds like so much fun, Lisa! I hope you had a great time, didn't eat too much, and won lots of great stuff. Oh yeah -and raised money for the club, as well. |
Here some photos from yesterday. It was a fantastic success
The venue "Marybrooke" in the Dandenong Ranges just outside of Melbourne. That's my mom going in (and the driver home ) Inside, that's me right down in the corner Steve a wonderful club member and our Auctioneer for the afternoon, working the crowd into a frenzy of buying. The goodies table of things to be auctioned, I seem to have caught the resident ghost in the picture too. Not all the stuff fitted on the table, there was heaps and heaps of goodies. Now something very special, this Teddy was made out of OES undercoat collected, spun then knitted into a Sheepie teddy. Collected from people with OES sending the undercoat in to make up this Aussie Sheepie teddy. That's jess holding the teddy and taking it around for everyone to feel, she is also our Vice President of the Club. I got outbidded on it, darn it. It was so soft and cute. It made a wonderful price and is so very unique. So great day for the club and everything sold with vigarous bidding by all. Now I wonder how long it will take for hubby to notice the new additions in the house. |
Cool. Looks like a great place. Lisa, is that Jess who's a member here? Are any of the other Australian sheepie lovers member's here? Sounds like a great bunch! |
Yes it is Other Aussie members here, TDennis & bobysocks are from South Australia.
They don't seem to post much I will have to have a talk to them all. |
Sounds like it was a blast!!!!!!!!!!! |
Very cool! Looks like a fun event! I love how your mom drove you home, even though you are 21 now |
Great pics. That teddy bear is such a cool idea.
Now...what did you win??? |
I won a framed painting of an OES, a lovely head study. Very special it was painted by a lady who bred my peppas mom and Kelseys grandma.
So am thrilled with it and was determined to win that one. Mom brought a oes statue and plate, she is converting to OES things in her house now. Hmmmm things to inherit later. Steph it was local yarra valley red wines to get through & sample, you have to support the local produce too, well that's my excuse . So that what moms are for, arent they? |
Can you post pictures of what you & your Mom bought? I'd love to see the painting especially. |
