FURIOUS
I WOKE UP THIS MORNING TO FIND MY EYEGLASSES MANGLED!Brand new glasses. Almost cost $500.00 due to my special lenses and the fact they were designer frames!!! I ALWAYS PUT THEM IN THEIR CASE TOO-I'VE BEEN PETRIFIED HE'D DO THIS! DOZED OFF TODAY AND DIDN'T. I had been up all night gathering quotes for a scrapbook I was going to start making him this week...then finally got tired at around 7 am.. Laid my glasses next to my head while I dozed off on couch...woke up in horror...only to find them halfway across the room ruined. Just laying there. Didn't catch him in the act. So I don't think theres any way to punish him... Lenscrafters said I automacitically have a warrantly so my new pair will be half off the 500.00 dollars. But still, thats a big chunk of change. Not to mention how blind I am until somebody has time to drive me out to the mall. I have a few, deep scratches on my cornea from contact lenses over-usage and am ordered to wear only glasses. My eyes are -6.50...I can't see anything! And I feel like he knows I wear those everyday and they are important..but he probably doesn't...it feels personal-not ot mention he got a pair of cute wedges this morning too... EDIT-He wasn't in his crate because we were up for the day (at least I thought!) and he sleeps with me every night anyway. I think my schedule threw him off. He never moves around-try to leave a room/destroy- areas where were sleeping-until I'm up. Never once destroyed a thing when it was bedtime. Just lays on floor and sleeps. Has had access to glasses before and shoes. Confused??? |

| oh no!!!!!! yikes!!! its not personal....and since you didnt catch him in the act, there is nothing you can really do....sigh....Oh the wedges.....and the glasses.... do you still have an old pair that you keep ''just in case"?? Im not as ''blind'' as you...im a -4.75 but thats bad enough...nothing like walking around in a fuzzy world...hope you can get new ones post haste! |
| No I lost my original pair a few months ago. This is what led to contact over-usage. Because I immediatkey didn't go out and by a pair... so no back ups as of now. Your in my boat lense/strength wise. That is a rather strong lense prescription. |

I like to take the myopic view of things.. I am also -4.75! Wanna borrow my glasses, Darcy? Lots of blind folks on here I guess. Sorry about the glasses. $500 is a ton. Have you checked out Wal-Mart's optic center? |

Yes I actually go to wal-mart vision center. I liked a few frames they had too. Good prices,etc. But I'm in a bind and needed them in a hour bc I had no back-up pair or contacts. And now again I'm in the same bind and can't wait. Thank God they have a hoour lense place. I was in the process of getting a cheaper back-up pair from wal-mart but hadn't made it out there this week. But won't be able to afford back=up glasses right now. And the reason I got the expensive frames is bc they only really carry designer frames at lenscrafters. They were all pricey. So I thought what the heck, just go all out. I do have to wear these everyday for a month lol! (I'm justifying my impulsive spending for myself lol). I've had horrible dog luck this week.My sister has a aeirdale terrier that we caught with my louis vuitton bag this week! Must have caught him just in time. I know the handles on the bag handles look tasty to him too. There thick, aged leather. I can just imagine the teeth prints he coulda of left! Oh and let me tell you what else this pooch did to me. Very embarssing. I had bought Jessica simpson clip in extionsions. Everyone knew they were in(my family i was with-they knew i didn't grew 10 inches of hair over night lol) but I didn't want them to see me with them out! The dog jumped on my back and ripped out the whole back piece of hair! Then proceed to take off with it and mangle it in the freshly cut GRASS! He was obsessed with my fake hair. Those extensions also cost me a pretty penny.. When we got ithe hair pieces back they were full of grass, wet and stinky..and my face was red. But it was quite hilarious! That dog has it out for me! |
I also lost my pair of favorite sunglasses to Bear when he was 5 months old. Who'd think that would be a tasty item, you know? Mine weren't even prescription so I can only imagine you're even more bummed out that I was.  |

| thanks ron, but i have contacts and 2 pairs of glasses.....when i wear the glasses to work (which isnt often) the boys like to play the game of ''tell me when you can read this...." with my glasses off.......
its really not that fun of a game  |

| Gee, -4.75 seems to be the common thread here, one eye is -4.75, the other is -4.25. Either later this year or next year, I'm getting Lasik eye surgery, and I can't wait. Oh to be able to wake up and see. Not to mention wear cute sunglasses, which hubby is already wanting to buy for me (he picked out a pair of ray-bans he really likes already, lol). I can't imagine not having my glasses. I'd run into everything! And not being able to read, well without holding the book on the end of my nose.......... |
| oh I'm the one with my nose pressed up on the screen. I'm lookin ginto to see if I qualify for lasik myself. just have been putting it off. |

lisas eye sight isnt as bad as mine.....but she does have glasses....NOT that she wears them ....  driving with her at night can be either very scary or exciting depending on how you look at it............. |

| Been there, done that. I have trifocals and the lenses alone are over $300.00. Last year my "boys" got ahold of a pair of glasses I had only had for about a week. It was over $500 and there was NO warrantly!!! Now I ALWAYS put my glasses on the dresser when I take them off. |
| Oh great, now you have me looking for my copy of my new glasses prescription......I know the left side is 10.50.......but the other is ?? probably in the high 9's....9.75 I'm guessing. Without glasses everying is a smudge. Ah, here it is, yep, 9.75. Once again new glasses are progressives, love 'em. |
 Ask Lens crafters again. When my dog ate mine I got them replaced free under warrenty. I do feel your pain. I woke up just knowing that the noice I was hearing was not good.  |

3 1/2 months into my lasik and I'm lovin' it!!! You will be soooo happy you did it.  Only draw back, spending extra money on all the great sunglasses.  |
