She sits and watches intensely the whole show, she loves it. Taking it all in and I always wonder what is going through her mind with this show. They were doing a training session and brie was totally absorbed in the show. Then after the show was finished she fell into snooze mode, must of been exhausting watching the dog train on TV. Kelsey likes tv too, especially when an animal runs across the screen, she gets up and checks behind the tv to work out where it ran too. So does your dogs ever stop what there doing and watch certain shows on TV or are they not interested at all? |

When we go to bed we watch a bit of TV in our room. If I am sleeping Don will watch a movie on his portable DVD in bed. Otherwise we both watch TV.
Either way, Dixie joins who ever is watching, lays down beside them and watches the screen intently. Often she is laying beside me, but at my feet and with her head up she blocks the screen... Bosley sleeps... |
Fozzie loves watching animals on tv especially Meerkats on Animal Planet. He really does get on the couch and watch tv with the occasional run to the tv. I think the new season starts soon |
China, my Aussie Shepherd, watches TV. Violet on the other hand does not. Violet usually naps between the love seat and the doggy chair so does not have a view of the TV. China, on the other hand, will lay on the couch on the doggy rug and sometimes watch TV. Both of the dogs will respond if they here a dog bark on the TV. They come "to alert" to listen and sometimes they will even bark in response. |
Barney sometimes watches tv, but he more often just responds to noises. I have to mute it whenever there is dog barking (or most animal noises). He can be in a dead sleep and a dog will bark on tv and he'll be up in an instant and bark at it (which is weird because he doesn't bark very much in real life).
Like last night, I was watching a show where this guy was learning how to dog sled, and so the dogs were barking and whining and waiting to take off and Barney was so excited by their noises. He'll also respond to doorbells or knocks on tv. He'll jump up and bark and run to the front door. Lisa, it looks like you are catering to Brie's TV habit--with the blanket right in front of the tv and the tv itself at Brie level! |
I know I wonder if she will need specs soon, way too much tv, oh well it is winter here, what is a gal suppose to do when it is wet outside, she has not learnt to use the phone yet for a chat to occupy her time so TV instead |
Only Harry watches. He is facinated by the movement. Otherwise, the rest ignore and snooze. Only once has a door bell on the TV stimulated a response and then it was Glacier, the rest just rolled over. |
Chewie sometimes watches -
especially if it is dogs or animals that make interesting sounds. Maggie the coonhound did when we 1st got her - she had never been a house dog. Now she ignores it like the rest. The passed out Brie cracks me up! |
You ought to be happy that Brie doesn't know how to work the phone as most of the Sheepies she has heard about live in other COUNTRIES!
Imagaine that phone bill! Riley will lay on our bed and watch for a bit. Ben ignores it, never been interested. Bailey will lung at the movement on the screen. If we say "Get the cat," she immediately runs to the TV in the livingroom. She doesn't like the bigger TV in the den. Oh, and she totally ignores the live cat in our house. |
Pepper LOVES the movie "the shaggy dog". It was hilarious when he watched it. He was on the couch snoozing when I flipped it on. He woke bc of the barking. And then got enttranced. He does this cute head tilt when hes confused. Like if I talk in a silly voice. He had his head tilt all thru the movie. That is about the only time he "watched" TV.
I'm going to buy it on DVD. We watched the new version. Try it out. On cable often too. Like HBO or Starz. |
Stella also loves the new version of "the Shaggy Dog". She really perks up when the dogs bark. I was in PetSmart last night and noticed a video made for dogs that features a lot of dogs doing typically doggie things, and some doing training and agility things. I picked it up for Sampson and Stella for when the kids go back to school in a few weeks. I'm not sure if they'll like it or not, we haven't watched it yet.

I'll say to our nearly two year old Logan about an hour before the Red Sox are playing, "Logan, the Red Sox are playing today," and he''ll run to and sit himself in front of the TV and not budge. His first move away from the TV is generally when the game is over.
If only I could time his explosive diarrhea to games against the Yankees, than I'd at least find some gratification in the clean-up. |
Echo loves tv. Your pictures are so cute |
