Tanya,
I'm already working on adopting Belle! They're in the process of arranging a home visit, which is a bit more complicated since I'm so far away. Belle sounds like a perfect fit for my furry household, so keep your fingers crossed for me. I'm so excited I can't stand it. Jil |
YEAH!!!!!! well my fingers are crossed Belle is so darn cute!!!! im gonna cross mickey and jaggers little toes also!!LOL!! BTW where do you live Jill???? Please let me know what happens w/ Belle Best wishes Tanya,Mickey, and Jagger |
I'm in Michigan - Detroit area.
That's a LOT of crossed toes & fingers and I appreciate each and every one! Jil |
Hi Jill,
Count me in too. We have fingers and toes crossed for you. The furbabies are rooting for you too. All paws crossed. I hope everything works out for you and Belle. Please keep us updated. Stormi and co. |
Hi Jil,
Hope all goes well with getting Belle. Do you live near Sterling Heights? I rescued Mollie a little over a year ago so if you need some help let me know. We don't know any other sheepies in our area. Mollie needs to play with some sheepie her own size. We're keeping our fingers crossed. Good Luck, Karen and Mollie Michigan |
How old is Mollie Karen? |
Mollie is 2 and will be 3 in November. She is a big girl weighing in at 80 lbs. The vet said that she was at her normal weight. When I got her last year she was skin and bones at 55 lbs.
She is my handful! But well worth all the work. She has come a long way since last year. Karen and Mollie Michigan |
I live in South Redford (not to be confused with Redford Redford, LOL), but Sterling Heights is not outrageously far for a play date. Belle's got a bit of arthritis in her back hips, so I don't know how play-compatible she'd be with Mollie, but it would be fun to see them together.
No definitive word yet, though. I'm still waiting to hear about scheduling the home visit. My nerves are shot - it's like a job interview only worse somehow! Stormi and Co., and Karen & Mollie, thanks for the crossings! Jil |
Hi Jil,
No, you're not too far. Mollie is on a hidden pet fence. I know that everything will go OK with the home visit. I didn't have to go through one. That was the first time the shelter shipped a dog out of state. My friend lives in Arkansas and vouched for me. I send pictures and updates on Mollie to the shelter. Keep us informed and let us know how everything is going. We are all excited for you. I wish I had known about this forum when I was getting Mollie. There is so much support on here. Best of Luck, Karen and Mollie Michigan |
shhhh . . . . I don't want to jinx it . . . . the rescue is calling my vet . . . .

She's Mine!
She's Mine! Now I have to wait until the 25th/26th until she comes home. How will I manage? Any helpful tips? What should I add to my Sheepie Shopping list? I do have a dog, Kayli Marie, so I've got toys & stuff, but Belle deserves her own things - leash/collar, food dish, grooming supplies . . . . I've already ordered her a Guardian Angel tag for her collar. If I knew for sure it would arrive before she left her foster home, I would have had it sent directly there. Jil |
Oh Jil, I am soooo happy for you! That is wonderful news!!! Congratulations to you and your family! Please post pics as soon as you can! The big day is only a week away! I think you will need to get her a bed, some pig's ears, ear cleaning supplies, a bath mat for the shower for her to stand on so she doesn't slip (if you don't have one already), ummm, little scissors for trimming the hair around their eyes and paw pads, ummmm, oh and a bumper sticker that sais "my sheepdog is smarter then your honor student" LOL There is a link here to an ebay store that sells them. And Ron has posted a link to a great site with many others. LOL Goodluck !!!! |
Jil! Congratulations!
That is wonderful that you will have Belle home with you soon. Yes, I bet this week will go slow, but once you get her home things will quickly change. If she is anything like Jack, she will need about 20 different balls to play with and if she is anything like Annabelle, a million chew toys would be a good start. LOL Please keep us updated, and as Marley said, post pics as soon as you can. Thank you for rescuing her. Best wishes to you and your family, Stormi and co. |
Hi Jil,
This is great news! Can't wait to meet both of you. Keep us posted on all the details. Are you driving to get her or is someone driving her to your home or are you flying her home!? Good Luck, Karen and Mollie Michigan |
Oh, I tried to get the bumper sticker but my e-bay account is frozen because I couldn't remember my password a while back and someone else tried to use it . . . . blah blah blah.
Toys - apparently she doesn't know what to do with them; how sad is that? I already bought her a stuffed sheep (doesn't every sheepie need one of their own?) and we'll see how it goes with that one. I'll start with the grooming supplies for now. |
