Honeycomb shades. You can even get the room darkening ones in colors, too. |
what are they ? never heard of them. |
Here's a good example but you can get them at any blinds place or Home Depot-- that's where I ordered ours. They're also called cellular shades. I love them. They don't get dirty like blinds. If they get dusty, you just kinda shake them around or you can vacuum them. Very low maintenance but they look good.

those would make a room look very "soft". i agree, honeycomb shades would look great in a large room. |
But are they sheepie-proof? |

I've had mine since I moved in and never had a single problem but my dogs don't bother things. They're not at all flimsy so it isn't something that they can smash through. |
i like the softer look of roman shades...or sometimes theyre called london shades....smith and noble has some beautiful ones.......but then, for me, its all about the fabric |

Not if they jump on them. These are hunter douglas I think they were called duets. Not sure but they had been great and have lasted since 1994. Until, Copper decided to attack the window trying to get at the landscaper. So now it's time to replace the windowcoverings. Unfortunately there are five windows in that room so I have to do them all because they are so old. What's good about them is you can pull them completely up and out of sight so you have almost your whole view from the window. The blackout ones are great for the bedroom. We have them in the bedroom and those are still in perfect condition. Probably because they are on the second floor. |
