I'm back at work today. This is my first day back since I was hospitallized. I thought I'd pop in and say hi. Maybe Jill will tell me a funny joke, to make me smile? I could use a few smiles today! Mike's dad has been hospitalized this past week with early stage kidney cancer and a heart valve issue. His tumor was removed successfully on Tuesday. Today he has a procedure to stop and restart his heart, to hopefully correct the valve rhythm. We're hoping it is successful! Keep him in your thoughts. He's holding up well, despite grousing about not being able to go on his August fishing trip. How has everyone else been??? |

Karen, it's good to see you back on the forum! Going back to work is no fun, but at least it serves as a distraction.
I hope your FIL feels better soon. Glad they got the cancer in its early stages. Anything with the heart is scary, but he sounds like a feisty man so maybe that will help him through it! I'll continue to keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. Day by day, friend, day by day. |
Hey Kar,
Glad your back up and about!! Missed you!! If you need a quick smile, heres one for you.... Last week I bought some hair extensions (the kind that you clip in your hair)...I didnt want to buy the ones that are permenant because Im afraid it will damage my overly processed hair even more..... Anyway, after a few tries with them, trying to curl them with hot roller etc, they just werent staying wavy...so I wet them and individually rolled them on those velcro curlers and set them on the counter to dry...I also had 2 on my head as well... Later that night, as I was getting ready for bed, brian walked in .. He FREAKED out ..started going on about the quanity of my ''hair loss'' and why would i want to save it and curl it...etc....I then pulled the ones out of my hair and I thought the poor guy was going to get sick.....lol....I have to say that it was hysterical.....I had to show him the clips that hold them in and explain that it wasnt MY hair...... btw....panda looks like a hippie with them in......shes not used to that long of hair |
Welcome back to work, Karen! We've missed you around here. I think you're going to hurt Ron's feelings by asking Jill to tell you a joke and not him!
I wish I knew some good jokes, but I'm the worst. Darcy--that IS hilarious. I think we need pictures of hippie panda... |
That is funny Darce. I can just see poor Brian freaking out upon walking into the bathroom! I defintely want pics of Panda with hair extensions on! If it was Pip, he'd probably eat them!!!
And Uncle Ronny, you can tell me a joke any day!!! |
Welcome back Karen!
Sending prayers off for your FIL...Many happy fishing trips to come! That story was my best laugh of the week Darcy...and yes...pics of hippy Panda are a MUST! |
Hi why do cow's were bells around their neck?
because their horns don't work |
Hi, Karen!!! So glad you are back. We have been thinking about you
Sorry, I can't remember jokes either. |
Karen welcome back. I don't have any jokes either but Darcy's story made me laugh! So thanks for asking for something funny! |
welcome back Karen |
Karen welcome back....we missed you!j:) |
A man was walking to work and sees a homelss man with a legless dog on lying on a cardboard.
He asks him? "What do you do with a dog that has no legs?" The homeless man replies: "You take him for a drag." "What do you call a dog with no legs?" he asks. "It really doesn't matter, he isn't coming." OK, it's old... |
Thanks Ron. That was cute. |
Hi Karen! Good to see you here. Going back to work is hard but also healing. I am going to post some pictures when approved hope they make you smile!!! |
Geez Karen, you should've gone back to work on a Tuesday. I never have any new material on Mondays. Actually, all my material is stolen anyway and you really lose my witty delivery online. Maybe I'll make you a video of my sarcastic comments. |
Glad you're back! |
Thanks guys.
Aww Jill, you don't have ANYTHING for me? Not one tiny witticism? It's Tuesday now! Going back to work was a LOT more draining then I expected it to be. I was so emotionally and physically exhausted last night I went to bed at 8pm! Today has been a bit better, but I realized that it's been 20 days today since Nate passed. I still managed to burst into tears before I'd been at work for half an hour two steps forward one back I guess. |
Karen, there is nothing wrong with crying. I certainly would have done the same.
I hope work goes OK. Also that your FIL gets better. He can use his fishing as an incentive to beat this and recover. Darcy - the hair extensions sound hilarious! I can't beat that one. |
Hi KAREN ,
Glad to see you back Good luck at work it will help. wendy and gismo |
Welcome back! |

If it makes you feel any better, I would like to burst into tears every morning that I have to just go to work but my only excuse is that I'm lazy. remind me to become independently wealthy soon, please. |
Welcome back! Sorry about your father in law!
Time does help things to not hurt as much. Sometimes though it takes A LOT of time. |
Welcome Back Karen!
My mind is blank at the moment but I'll think of some good jokes to place a smile on your face... I'll get back to you! Marianne |
Thaks Marianne. I could use a few giggles today. |
Hi Karen,
Here's a joke site I found , now I haven't checked them out, but supposedly they are clean. http://www.ahajokes.com/animal_jokes.html We'll have to compare our favorites after we spend the day reading them all! Ps...Ron, new material! Marianne |
