We can't wait to move!!
We live in a rented apartment in a very narrow street. There are always cars parked all the way along on both sides, half on the pavement. You can just drive your car between them and there are very few spaces, it's hard when you return home from work to find a space near your house. The pavements are very narrow and you end up squeezing between the parked cars and the houses if you are walking on the pavement. We are in the middle of a sprawling mass of streets like this, the houses are small and terraced, I think some of them have small gardens but ours does not. The area is very run down, all the signs with the road names have been sprayed out and alot of the houses have graffiti on them, including ours. The children play in the streets, shouting, kicking and bouncing balls and riding bikes in the roads. There are some lock-up garages a little way up the road and these are often broken into, I've seen kids as young as 9 or 10 doing this. They shout at the tops of their voices, swearing and fighting all the time. Last night we were kept awake by a gang of kids setting of fireworks aimed at eachother like a fight with these as weapons 
Followed shortly by the usual drunken fighting that always breaks out after midnight. There are alot of prostitutes working in our area, i pray for them every time I drive past. Nobody seems to have any regard for others or their own property, it's really sad. What upsets me most is the trail of parents walking their children to school, shouting and swearing at them, the language is the worst I have ever heard- and thats the parents to their kids!! The streets are full of old fridges, sofas, cookers etc. I often wonder what makes people behave in these ways. Anyway, we are in the process of buying a house in a different area, the road we are hopefully moving to is larger and we will have a garden  We think it will be the beginning of sept when we move. The area has just had a ban for gangs, and security has been set up there, just in time for us moving in
Hopefully this will be the start of a more pleasant life for us- and maybe we will get a full nights sleep at last!!! Cassie & Greg. |

I know so much what you mean, I'm not English but I always wondered what does it do for all these kids and gangs (& parents!) to run around like this, behaviour like this. Kids only 9/10 years old as you said hang around outisde and smoke or do any bad things, which I cant understand cause my son was never allowed to be outside by himself late or behave badly, he wouldnt do it anyway. He doesnt like those kids too! It's a shame really that so many people dont look after their own nor other peoples property! 
We moved 3 years ago in a better area but it's soo much expensiver (we rent, no chance to buy!) and we have to get the money in, but it is so much better to live here! I cross my fingers for you two  so you can move soon and ofcourse the most important thing is: you will get your Sheepie Puppy!!!

| Thanx Monika. We live in Chatham in Kent, everytime they try to put money into the town, the people here just abuse it. There is supposed to be a re-generation project but they interviewed a local lady on the news and even she said "Cafe's are too good for here- they will just get vandalised" Cafe's for goodness sake! Taxi drivers are alway having their car windows broken, it's like the kids just run the place. Last week I overheard two young girls actually boasting about what bad mothers they will be, like it was cool to be that way.
I know there are much worse places to live, don't get me wrong, it's just upsetting and soooo noisy! We are moving to a different town so hopefully it will be better. We have found a house yeaay, AND of course then we will get our sheepie [/i] |
| Oh I think it sounds really bad that place, I dont think I ever come across a place like where you live. I probably would get frightened if I just walk on the road on a daytime!
I cant believe the wreck Cafe's and Taxidrivers windows, never heard this before, bad kids! What else can you say! It sounds a bit like a horror-movie!
I pray soo much for you to move into your house soon! xx I did just run outside in the front of my garden cause I saw someone passing with a SHEEPIE! Oh my god, I never ever seen a Sheepie here! I had to stop him and the Sheepie was called Sadie, he was just looking after his parents dog, so the Sheepie doesnt live here! But I had to tell him about this website here, so I hope he or his parents come back and post here! Sadie is only 6 months old and wanted to play with Charlie. Also Charlie got very exited, was hard to hold her! But they might come over one eve so they can play! I dont know if I have a house left afterwards LOL !!

| congratulations on your new house. nothing is more rewarding than walking into a safe and quiet house....hopefully you will have a garden with big bright blooms..
my mom and new stepfather were just there and i have to tell you ...the abundance of greenery and flowers were amazing... its making me yearn for a trip across the pond |
