Congrats on your upcoming new addition.
I'm sure some others with multiple dogs will chime in, but here is the limited amount I've heard on the subject. At the first meeting, do not bring the puppy directly into your dog's territory, but introduce them on neutral ground (local park, etc.) both leashed for more control. Then take both dogs on a walk together, so they learn that they are part of the same pack. After that, take them home.......and then? .....someone? ......anyone?......... |
Try not to make the puppy the total center of attention. Sami was there first and is older, although not by much, and should retain her place. I think you'll find Sami to be a big help in training the pup. We got Rosco and Daisy when Beau and Luke were a year old, the boys pretty much taught the younger ones the ropes. Enjoy your new puppy |
