Sorry, I have no suggestion about something to help her sleep.
But I do hope the acupunture helps her. |
It's a hard one, I personally would not give her anything there to make her sleep. What about trying a big stuffed soft toy for her to snuggle with and keep her company while you are not in the room?
I hope the accupunture works and she is up and about soon for you. Is it possible also to take her swimming, is there anysort of dog therapy pool near you, that helps enormously too with building up and strengthening the muscles to get them mobile again and the water supports there weight and gets them moving there legs and working those muscles. |
I agree. I would be wary of anything to help her sleep especially at her age. When we had to take our 11 year old to the emergency room last month, the vets warned against painkiller or similar. They said ... that Sheepdogs have a tendancy to give up. Sorry, I am not trying to upset you. They said, because of this, they don't like to give too much to help re pain or sleep aids.
Our boy's sleeping patterns have changed in the last year or so, too. I suppose it is part of the aging process. |
Poor B- I was hoping she was doing better.
When Max was very ill- and we couldn't be with him while we were at work- we recorded our voices with some encouraging words and left it on. We recorded 6 hours of "good boys" and singing ( that was me ) and just plain talking. I do think it may have soothed him. Could you try something like that for B- combined with the other suggestion of a cuddley? Who is doing the acupunture?? Do they have other treatments available. As you know- laser has been a miracle for Max! Best wishes- Lori |
Try giving her something that has your scent on it, an old t shirt maybe. If she is in pain she needs comforting and having your scent may be soothing for her. |
I am sorry to hear that B is not feeling well. I have no other suggestions than what has already been suggested. I hope B starts feeling better soon. Plz give her a gentle hug from Violet, China and me. |
I'm really sorry B is having such a struggle! Does the Dr. doing the Accupunture have any suggestions? Were you ever able to speak to Alameda in CO and maybe get some exercises you could do at home with her. Or can you maybe find a different vet in your area. Sometimes a different vet could have a new perspective that might be helpful. Good Luck it's obvious you love her very much! to B! |
