Pooh-Bear's ACL repair surgery

Pooh-Bear had his ACL repair done today. The vet also found a torn meniscus. The vet said his surgery was a success and we can bring him home tomorrow to start his at home recovery. We will be glad to get him back with us. I had less empty nest syndrome when the kids grew up and left home!

Pooh will be happy to be home too! Follow the recovery instructions. Poor Bear will want to do more than he should for awhile.

May he return to normal soon.
Yay for Pooh Bear! I hope his recovery is quick and easy!
Sending sloppy kisses from the boys and belly rubs from me. Hope Pooh Bear makes a speedy recovery! Of course being a sheepie, you know he's going to make everyone in the household work hard to make sure he's comfortable. Then again he's a special boy and deserves the royal treatment!

Hope he feels better soon.

Thanks to everyone for their words of encouragment! We got him home today and he's glad to be back. So are we...he was missed! It's amazing an animal can capture such a big piece of your heart.
can i ask waht the symtoms are.. derby has been limping on and off since i got him the front leg,, he is a year i am going to take him for xrays tues
seems like after he walks or plays in get worse.. glad to here your baby is coming home
Pooh's injury came on pretty sudden. He was "herding" one of the cats outside. I had my back turned towards him and all I could hear was a big yelp and alot of whimpering. He couldn't walk on that leg after that, just some toe touching for balance. They suspected the ACL tear after a trip to the emergency animal hospital the next morning. A couple of days later he was at the vet's office and under mild sedation, had x-rays and the vet checked his knee out. (also had his teeth cleaned!) After the surgery the vet had called and gave us the results. He said he had a complete tear of the ACL and also the meniscus was torn, too. The torn miniscus was causing him alot of pain the vet said and he should feel alot better now. He is feeling a lot better today, 2 days after surgery.
One good thing that did come out of the x-rays, we found out at 8 years old, he does not have arthritis in his hips! Yeah!
Hope Derby's x-rays come out okay on Tuesday!
thanks for the info can acl happen on your front leg? give the bear a hug from us
Recover quickly, Pooh! But not too quickly or you'll miss all the extra belly rubs and treats :)
I want to say no to an ACL tear in the front legs, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know more information about this?
Hope Pooh Bear is on the mend!
found out it is not acl they think it is ocd they sent the xrays off for another opinion
