everything is plugged in correctly.....anyone out there?? |
|
Can you hear other sounds, like people talking and traffic noise (just making sure you haven't gone suddenly deaf).
Have you double checked all the connections to make sure nothing was unplugged (including power to the speakers)? Have you opened the computer volume control -- sometimes if you doubleclick on the sound icon in your task bar, it will pop up an expanded setting so that you can see different volumes for different types of sounds. One of those settings might be too low. Do you speakers have a volume dial on them? When all else fails, try restarting the computer. |
Dead speakers???
I don't mean it sarcastically Darcy, that actually happened to me. I called my computer guy BIL, and he comes over to check it out. He laughed and said "your speakers are toast" . |
nope cant hear any sound....i replugged in the speakers ..they made a crackley sound but then nothing....i also rebooted the computer...nothing....i feel like im deaf.... |
go to controll panel,/system/device manager and check sound device. Is the device working properly.
this is is from Richard. is the device working properly IF YOU NEED HELP CALL OR WE WILL CALL YOU Deana |
Do you see a little picture of a loudspeaker in the bottom right hand corner of your display?
Double click that, make sure all of the slides are closer to the top than the bottom, and make sure that none of the boxes that say "mute" are checked. If that doesn't work, use the little loudspeaker to call for help from a 15 year old. |
Hmmm, I am also having a speaker problem.
I just got a monitor with Speakers in it and I cannot get them to work at all. But I also have a set of desktop speakers, so I guess I am stuck with them. Only one of them works. |

i ran the norton antivirus.....it seems to have fixed whatever was wrong.... thanks richard!! and everyone else!! |

No sound from my monitor..
So I guess I'll just keep using the desktop speakers... It is a used monitor, so the speakers may just be broken. Deana, Please thank Richard very much for his help! At least we updated some drivers. |
Richard said that external speakers give better sound than built in, Good luck. |

I know, but I was hoping to free up an outlet. I guess the external it is then! |
For what it's worth, I had a problem with my sound
just a couple weeks ago. I did everything I could think of, and as it turned out some of my sys32 files had gone missing. If it was some kind of virus or worm or something PCcillin by TrendMicro did not find it. I had to manually reinstall some of the files directly from the MS website. But now I am working just fine!
