| I keep a thick blanket on the furniture, especially the sitting-on section. This eliminates toe nail punctures. During wet season (which is sprinkler season here in the desert) I also cover the vertical portions as sheepdogs who play in sprinklers love to rub on couches.
Of course you could train the dogs not to get on the furniture......... 
There are good leather cleaners on the market, but always rely on just plain water and a soft cloth for drying as your first step. |
| We have a pretty old leather couch, but it is still in good shape. It is much easier in my opinion to keep clean than the cloth furniture. I just take a damp towel and wipe up the mess. I don't know about white, though. |

I have a leather couch and recliner and find much easier to clean. I have 2 cats as well that are not declawed and thought that maybe they would scratch it to pieces. But I've had Zeppelin and my cats for 2 years and it's easier to clean and no real big scratches yet from the cats..a few small ones but nothing major. And as well the hair doesn't stick as it would if it were fabric. Good luck with the new furniture. Just use a damp cloth to wipe the dirt off after ..easy as that ! |
| Thanks for all the replies! Well, it looks like the set is coming from a NJ wearhouse that is going out of business. I hope the white isn't going to be too much... LOL I figured it was easier to clean, and am glad to hear that my assumption was correct. LOL Can't wait until it gets here today or tomorrow! |
| If worse comes to worse and the white is too hard to clean you could maybe dye it? I did to my leather coat.... |
| I am the crazy one on here. I bought a nice white couch a few years back that isn't white anymore from the kids, dogs, and cats. One of these days we are going to get new furniture. Marley, it looks like you made a wonderful find on Ebay. I wish you well with the white. Since it is leather it shouldn't be as hard to keep clean as mine has been.

| Really!!!??? Wow, I haven't even thought of that. It is a good idea... I love the off white color, our living room doesn;t have any windows and I wanted something light. Oy, we shall see. Meanwhile, its been raining here all day, and supposed to for the next two days. Thanks Frances. Anyway, the three shmoops are totally crazed! Running in and out drenched, and ofcourse jumping on the couch and me. LOL |

Hopefully it will stop raining by the time you get it.. I'm in Ottawa and we haven't been hit yet but tonight they are calling for a severe downpour, thursday all day as well thanks to Frances!!.. Week-end here is suppose to be sunny and warm..great time to bring Zeppelin to the off-leash park nearby |
