In other good news, Lucy is doing really well. She's off all meds except for her glucosamine and is back to almost normal. She probably is normal but now I watch her so much, I notice every little odd movement. But, she hasn't had trouble getting up at all for over a month. We haven't even had to use the lift harness once and she's even getting up with no problem on the hard floors. Plus, her hair is growing in and she's extra squishy. Finally, we're finally getting started on building a garage. Our house is a new construction but they skimped on building a a garage with it. This year, we've finally gotten the motivation up to start. We had a giant tree removed (who knew how expensive it gets to remove a big tree?) and we're submitting plans to the city this week. I can't wait to have somewhere to store all the junk we have in the basement! Oh, yeah, and to have somewhere to park the cars. All right, that's my good news. What else have you guys got? |

Beauford is over his ear infection and back to bouncing off the walls YAY!!!! Beauford and Cheyenne have learned how to share when needed LOL will post the pics as soon as they are approved. :D The best news of all is my daughter just received word back from the University she plans to attend in the fall and it is all paid for through grants and scholarships. We'll only need to get one loan through fasfa. A BIG YAY!!! We were so worried we wouldnt have enough money to cover all the expenses. A small yay is the roses I previously had posted about and everyone thought they had black spot. They do and they are responding quite well to the fungicide. THANKS and a big for everyones great advice. |
My dad is coming to town on Monday and I haven't seen him since September. (He lives in FL) He's a movie buff so I'm sure I'll be providing lots of reviews next week!
Plus our house is finally finished being painted. The painter started in October and didn't get finished until a week before July 4th. I'll be sure to post some photos soon. |
Quote: I just booked a cruise for October to the eastern Caribbean. We're taking off from Miami, then off to Half Moon Cay, Bahamas, the US Virgin Islands, San Juan, Puerto Rico and finally to Grand Turk Island in the Turks and Caicos.
I hate you, I hate you, I hate you. /need an overly jealous icon |
Barney doesn't seem to be having any problems with is hips lately, and in our new apartment even jumps down the section that has 2 steps (and jumps up)...AND when we were walking in our complex the other day we met a nice lady and her corgi (not as nice!) and the corgi was all snappy and growly at Barney---she's an old lady...but Barney completely ignored her and went straight to the corgi's owner and just leaned into her for rubs |
Good news? Well, the heat and humidity are gone for the next few days and we got some much needed rain. I am taking 2 days off work--tomorrow and Friday. And the Michigan pic-a-nic is only 3 weeks away. And Harry Potter Book 7 comes out in 10 days. |
OK here is my good news. Darcy went to her first puppy class for training and did very well. Madeline took her. I wanted to go but the air was so thick I could not breath. It's much better today and cooling off some. I will go next week and watch. Her first show should be in Sept. |
good news?
I havnt posted for awhile but I still hang around IT RAINED!!! (trust me that is good news) I graduted college last month! (great news) I won a photo contest today (no prizes but still cool) mellow |
It seems I've won several national lotteries today! |
It cooled off yesterday! (but still need rain)
I hung laundry out and it smells heavenly. I successfully got 3 dogs entered in the Waukesha show! (after missing the deadline for the last one ) My foster puppy went to her new home Monday - good for her, but we miss her. All my dogs are doing well, even Macy and her cancer and Tazz w/ his CHF. I get to babysit puppy Wrigley next week! |
My husband gave me my birthday present last night. He asked if I wanted it early and I could tell his button's were about to burst wanting to give it to me. So I said of course I wanted it. I tend to be a practical person, probably the nurse in me. Small bag that I didn't recognize. A small box, still clueless. (He has put notes in small boxes before, the trickster) Diamond earrings!
My first pair of diamond earrings were given to my for my anniversary the year I was pregnant with my first child. I had been told that it was unlikely that I could get pregnant or stay pregnant. And it was hard when my s-i-l got pregnant - happy for her and sad for me. Then I got pregnant. The earrings were a symbol of our bright, shiney future. I never took them out. One day when Riley was a pup, she gave sloppy puppy kisses. One of the earrings fell out and wasn't found (I hate looking through puppy poop). I was sad about the earring because of the memories, but not complaining as accidents happen. I can't wear the cute cheapo earrings as I am allergic to metal other than gold and silver. For three years, no earrngs. Money's been tight with three kids in college and then my husband changing jobs with the sale of his old company. Amazing how much you do without if you need to - and really not miss it. So I was totally shocked. |
Good news? I put my name down yesterday at Derby College to learn "Dog bathing & Grooming" followed next year by "Dog cutting & styling". After learning it for 1 year I will be a fully trained groomer with Certificate which I'm very much looking forward to! It will give me some job-opportunities and aswell best grooming for Charlie!!
My 1. day starts on 27.11! I cant wait! and I can take Charlie with me and she will enjoy a weekly bath lol!! Also from the 22.9. I go for 1 week to Scotland in the search of Nessie! I will stay in a wooden lodge directly at Loch Ness! What else could I want?? ... a cruise like you do? to Miami and the Bahamas!! I'm soooo jealous!! |
Ryan is 100% recovered from his Tonsilectomy and Adenoidectomy.
Hayley started school last Friday. But she actually LOVES it. It's only 3 days a week and half days, but it's really good for socialization being kids her age. Billy may be starting a new company. Unforunately not so hot news about me..... so I will leave all that out. But I did have a little good news. I had a court date last week and we won the right to file the papers I filed and proceed with the lawsuit. |
Dixie jumped on the bed last nite, and is being a royal pain in the butt...so that tells me she is pretty well back to normal after the car accident we had.
And on Monday I was offered, and so accepted, a new postion in my company that I had applied for 3 weeks ago...Yaaahhh!!!! Nothing like a new job that you actually WANT to get up and go to!!! |
Great Thread !!!
Good News .... Delilah 7 is getting better every day . My boys are both back to their crazy self's! It rained and We really needed that ! We are all healthy. Hi All,
My good news is I have absolutely nothing on my calendar until the end of August. This may not seem "good" to the rest of you, but to me it is great. No travel and free weekends. I have traveled over 100,000 miles for business and family reasons since Jan. I've been gone an average of three weeks each month and I really need a break. I plan to revel in my "doing nothing." I love my job, but I need to stay planted in NY for a couple of weeks. Even my husband, a couple of weeks ago, remarked, "Dudley and Oscar (our 2 OES) want to know when you will be home for a while." Meaning my husband wanted to know when I would be around. Thoroughly enjoying my empty calendar and hoping I haven't jinxed it in any way! Kathie |
good news...
i saved money on my car insurance by switching to gieco? my past few weeks been lousy.. but keep on sharing the good news.. maybe some will rub off on the rest of us =P |

We booked our trips to San Diego and also Hawaii!!
Our kitchen has been done and working now for months. Im cooking up a storm.... No panda poopie explosions... and the monsoons are on the way...which means rain!!!!!!!! |
GREAT thread Jill! THANKS!
Well...Our show in Girdwood went well....Scott's hand injury is almost totally healed....My pups did very well with the 4 day camping trip (at the Girdwood show) and so some worrys that I had about how Bert would cope with our next (2 week long) trip are gone I had been especially concerned about his reluctance to poop ANYWHERE unfamiliar ....but, HE GOT OVER IT!!!! |
Well I had some good news of sorts today.......
Once every two years I have to spend a day at the hospital that employees me (I work in a clinic about 50 miles away) taking competency exams (to prove I know what to do in the event of an emergecy). They always make it as nerve wracking as possible just because they like to see the nurses suffer. Well, I passed with flying colors and am employable for another two years |
My youngest son is home tonight after 4 month at sea.
Kelsey is doing well, still destroying stuffies, no metacam and getting around OK in these cooler months. Wee Wee is back to normal and she is eating like a pig (which is normal for her) Hubby started a new job yesterday after being at the other one for over 8 years, was time for a change Been raining here and nice after the long drought. The victorian OES club is having an auction dinner next month, so lots of OES goodies donated to raise funds and am looking forward to a drink and meal with friends and bidding on heaps of stuff, shhhh don't tell hubby. Life is great |
My good news is the orphaned 2 week old kittens that crawled out from uder the shed the day of my husband's surgery, 7 weeks ago went to Watermelon Mountain Rescue today where hopefully they will find new homes quickly. The last hurdle was the feline leukemia test which they don't have, PHEW! other wise rescue wouldn't take them.
It was fun??.........the bottle feedings, the multi-feedings throughout the day, cleaning the litter box 3x a day, the smell in the garage where they peed on carpeting and all the bedding in Jack's box, the torn apart Christmas reindeer, the cost of shots/food/etc.?? No, I didn't take pictures. The were OJ the orange, Bruno the black and grey tiger, and White Nose and Brown nose the Siamese cross. Mom was a real slut that last breeding, and now lies buried in a neighbor's yard after becoming road kill. I will miss them but don't want to see more. |
My good news is small, but always welcome. My animals love me and show it by waking me up early enough to play with them in the moring. Whether I want to or not. |
I want to add that good news to me was that unlike Laurel's dogs, mine did not roll in anything that a bear left behind. Maybe that is nothing from a bear's behind. |
Good News.....
Baxter went to his chiropracter yesterday and is feeling a lot better (he and the cat were playing....the cat made the turn in the hallway.....Baxter didn't and I have to fix the drywall) Bad news.....Baxter is feeling a LOT better Jennifer, Baxter, Cassiopia and Sharkey |

YUK Ours are every year tho |

Thank GOODNESS! |

Good news only another Southwesterner can appreciate I'm home from my business trip and got to wake up in my own bed! (sounds like kajochen can relate to that one) And all of your travel planning news has inspired me to finally get my fall scuba trip planned, so I'll start working on that! Thanks for the good news thread, Jill! |
Hi ButtersStotch,
You will absolutely enjoy yourself on the cruise. We took our first cruise this past November and loved every minute of it. Half Moon Cay and Grand Turk was two of the ports that we stopped at. I loved the beautiful aqua blue waters! |

I loved the beautiful aqua blue waters! Awesome! I'm so glad to hear that. Even though I feel good about our cruise choice, it's always nice to hear about it from someone else. I will consider that my good news today. My bad news? I think I lost my darn passport. |

If you have to get a new one, make sure you have it expedited. |
My good news: Brad and I are going to move soon. <3 We're not sure where yet... or if we're staying here in Beaufort or not. But we're getting our own home. Also - Brad is getting a really great job (that he'll like) so we won't be so poor anymore.
So many bad things have happened to us this year... and it has been really hard. It is a relief things are finally looking up. |
Great thread!
My husband got a new job! It pays twice what his last job paid, AND it is in Kansas City, so WE GET TO MOVE closer to our parents (only 4 hours away now), family, and friends. WE LOVE THE KC AREA, so we are both so *excited! (*nervous, frustrated, and excited all lumped together in that term) |
