I know she is in the best possible hands. I am also a little worried bacause the next Wednesday, Nigel will be flying in from Buffalo, NY. I have never had an animal shipped...so I am a little panicky. I just need to get through the airport pickup and that will be the end of my major stress. Anything after that should be a breeze...and we will had a sheepie to hug again. Thanks guys...this is a great place to go anytime. |

Best wishes on your daughter's surgery and speedy recovery.
Good luck with Nigel's flights, too. I've never gone through this process either, so I can't offer any words of wisdom, but I can send a hug for support. |
Wendy,
White light coming your way to lessen your stress over the next week. All the best for your daughter and for the outcome she wants (contacts). As far as Nigel....just another week and he will be home with you. He'll be fine flying...the airlines are pretty good...is there a stop over? If there is you can (for a small fee) get the airline to take him out of his crate and cuddle him. Stacey did that with one of the pups she shipped. She paid the extra fee for the pup to be cared for during the stop over.....the stop over turned out to be longer than expected so she was glad she paid for that extra care. The airline cleaned up the pup and put fresh blankets in the crate and then played with him in an xpen in their office. |
I don't think the stop is very long...maybe 1/2 hr. I am more concerned with him changing planes. I am not sure which flight yet. The breeder is booking it today. We just need the earliest flight because of the heat. I will know more by the end of the day. |
It'll be okay!
Barney flew from Ca to VA and was fine...just peed on himself But that was the story of our life for the first few months anyways! |
good luck to you daughter
don't worry about nigel we shipped einy from the uk to florida and he was in his crate for about 16 hours and bless him, he had not even peed on himself so don't worry. i did however have to stand outside for 10 MINUTES !!!!!!!! while he did peed all will be will i' sure of it zoe and einy |
OK. Today we go to UCLA Medical center for the pre-op visit. We will stay down there overnight in a hotel, and tomorrow morning is her surgery. All that white furry light should help.
Nigel is coming in on the 18th at 11:30 in the morning...so I just pray all goes well. By tomorrow noon we should be over the first hump. |
Lots of luck to your daughter with her surgery.
I'm sure Nigel will be fine, but also sending wishes for a safe trip. |
Good Luck, will be sending you all the white furry light you need! |
Wendy,
Sending prayers and good thoughts for you and your daughter. Val |
OK...thanks All!!! The surgery was a breeze. We were on our way home by 9:00 this morning. Hopefully this one will be all she needs.
I can almost relax now. Just a little stress left for Nigel's plane flights. We pick him up Wednesday at 11:30. I have been 4 months without a sheepie. It will be sooo good to have a furball again. |
Wendy,
That's wonderful that your daughter's surgery was a breeze... Now only a few more days of waiting for Nigel. |
