Home in Ohio for OES

Hi! We would like to adopt an Old English Sheepdog. We would provide a very loving home. Our family consists of three children, who love dogs, an indoor outdoor cat and a 3 yr old West Highland Terrier. We are finally ready to handle the responsibilies of grooming----please let me know if you know of a OES in need!

Hi,
The best way to adopt an OES is through a rescue. There are several
(you can do an onlne search). The one I work with is

The first thing to do on is fill out our online adoption application.
Good luck! Sue
Hello,
I'm not sure if you have been in contact with a rescue in Ohio but I am in contact with a rescue person and I am trying to place our OES. He is a 5yr old male. Great with kids, may be ok with your other dog...He has an alpha personality so it really depends on your dogs personality. I would like to say tht there would not be any problems but they are animals and he has not been fixed. Write back with an email address if you are interested. He is a sweetie!
Hi,

I live in ohio and am traveling to Delaware (maybe tomarrow). saw your ad on craigslist. I can't take on another OES right now. It is too hard on me with what happened but if anyone on here needs me to help any other way I can try.

I posted as a guest the Old Endlish in need of a home. His name is Louie and he is a great dog. If someone can let me know how I can get in touch with the Ohio family who is looking for a great oes I would appreciate it.
I would like to suggest to any who are looking to find new homes for their dogs or to adopt OES that they contact an OES rescue. Please see http://www.oes.org/html/oes_rescue.shtml for links.

There are many advantages, the biggest advantage is to the dog. A good OES rescue will work very hard to find not just a good home, but a great match for your dog. And if you're looking to adopt, a rescue will have the expertise to help match the dog's personality and special needs to your family's personality and lifestyle. Experienced OES rescues help take a lot of the guess work out of the process for everyone. This is especially important for families with young children. And of course, the dog who is being asked to learn to love a new home.
Please have him neutered before he is placed....Just to make sure that he does not end up in the wrong hands.

It is also healthier and it may make him a better companion to other dogs.
I second the neutering -- also, this may help with some of alpha tendencies (though I'm not if this will after 5 years). If Louie's Mom can't get it done then I would think that the rescue club would (I haven't worked closely with many rescue clubs but do know that the greyhound club I researched some years ago did take care of neutering).
