LMAO I've never tried the whitening strips, I tried the gel. It didn't appear to do much for teeth, then I tried it on dog beards, didn't do much there either... |
My son loves them!! So much he's asked for them for Christmas and his birthday..the Crest Whitestrips and he swears they work.
Cost is aprox 50 dollars for 3 wks supply, although I have seen them on sale for 35 a few times. The cost is minimal compared to over 200 to have it done at the dentist office (I know cause I asked). My dentist said they do a fine job. Marianne |

My dentist said they do a fine job. Marianne I'll tell you what though, Marianne. My good friend had hers done through the dentist (where you get the molds and do the gel at night for a week or 2) and the results were not only amazing, but she only did it once and it was almost 4 years ago now. That one time investment blows away the small cost savings on the strips. But, I do wonder, for smokers, I'll bet the strips might be more effective since it's a continual removal of the day's tar? I don't know. I smoked for many years. Drink tons of tea and used to be a heavy coffee drinker, too. My teeth, for unknown reasons better to not question, are shocking white. The dentist shakes his head at me every time I go in and tells me not to tell anyone because he doesn't want anyone else to think it'll be the same for them if they rock the system, too! |
I have not tried the strips, so I can't help there. I
have tried the gel, two different kinds. I did get a good deal of whitening, however, I also had intense pain in my two front teeth. The pain only lasted a few minutes and then it was over. The one thing most of the gels I looked at had in common was that there is the possibility of sensitivity. For whatever reason I didn't even check out the strips. I guess I thought the gel was more powerful, and I tend to go right to the "big guns". Maybe I'll check out the strips - I'm afraid to use the gel again, big baby that I am. Shellie |
My niece swears by the Target brand. She says they are just as good as Crest and a lot cheaper. |
I did the crest white strip two week dealy and that was oh...2 years ago, my teeth have never looked better. My hubby tried the equate brand before our wedding and loved it. I tried one strip but they are made differently than crest and are thicker so it is easier to mold to your teeth and it doesn't tear as easily.
The taste is not horrible, just different. Your not suppossed to swallow but invaribly you end up with a a little being swalloed. Off brands work just as well, and for much cheaper. Next time i do it, i want to get the one that just came out by Crest, it is already molded!!! Shannon M. |
