| I won't post anything here because I don't know how far you have watched and don't want to spoil anything, but if you do a google/yahoo search there has been an interview posted this week by one of the Rescue Me characters and his characterization of Leary as a "Bully". If you read the interview it will give away what happened in last week's episode!!!!!!!
DL in real life has a great fondness for firefighters. I know he puts on a celebrity hockey game for the Boston firefighters every year (his father or brothers may have been firefighters). |
| his cousin and best friend were fire fighters, they lost their lives in a warehouse fire in Worcester a few yrs back. So I am assuming that a lot of real life emotions went into this show....
they just dont show enough of them doing their afternoon duty of ''naps''...but i guess thats just too real and boring...hehehe |
| The Worcester warehouse fire was started by a homeless and mentally challenged couple who, IIRC kicked over a candle and ran when the fire got out of control.
The firefighters responded to a report that the couple might still be inside, and went back into the warehouse to search for them when the roof collapsed. 6 firefighters died. All of this was brought back to the surface when the 9 firefighted just perished in a South Carolina warehouse fire. Brave men. |

I've never seen the show...but I have always thought Dennis was very hot  !!!I saw a comedy special of his years ago, and it was so offensive to every race, religion, meat eater, smoker, vegetarian..everyone...but boy of boy, was he HOT! I thought he was even hot in the movie The Ref!!! (Not to mention hysterical!) I think he's the quinessential "bad boy"....hubba hubba!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  |

Darcy, you are not alone. In liking the show, I mean.  I do not find Denis Leary attractive per se, but Rescue Me is FANTASTIC. It's one of a handful of tv shows that I bother to watch, that and Entourage, and maybe an episode of (CHUNG CHUNG) Law & Order here and there. I even got my husband and my dad hooked.
Rescue Me is crazy and unpredictable, which I love, and the characters are NUTS! It's good family fun (NOT!!!), if you don't mind your kids talking like truck drivers.
Can't wait for this week's episode.........

| LOVE LOVE LOVE the show! It is so wrong in so many ways...that's why I like it. I don't think Dennis Leary is hot in anyway shape or form, but he does get a ton of women in the show. I wonder what his wife it ilke in real life. Since I go to bed early now, we've been recording the show. I'm about 1/2 and episode behind and will watch it later today. It's the one show I now tell Steve to NOT watch without me. I like to enjoy the show together. |

No, he actually quit. His entire schtick for years was all based on smoking and how he was never gonna quit. Then he quit. So, essentially, he used smoking to make him famous, and then he left it. Kind of like women who support their husbands during medical school and then the guy becomes a doctor and leaves her. Yup, just like that. |

| Yep, my husband and I love this show. It is a hysterical show; the whole Sheila storyline in a riot, as is the Uncle.

| I didn't realize the new season has started already. I just caught it this past Wednesday. This show is great especially with true life aspects like the camaraderie among the guys. It is very much the same at our firehouse (even the drunken brawls).
Another thing I love about the show is all of the Twilight Singers (Greg Dulli - Afghan Whigs) music they play as a soundtrack. I think Dennis Leary is friends with the band who is very under rated IMO. |

| I thought this show was on HBO and so I didn't even think to look for it but I saw last night that it's on FX--I get FX!! Maybe I'll try and catch an episode next time. Do they ever show repeats during the week? |

BTW., The opening segment song at the fire where the mom is throwing the kids out the window was by the Twilight Singers again. Lead Singer Greg Dulli and Denis Leary are buds.
