That is a great idea, Marley! I was looking at that the other day. I even saw a few listed here in Oklahoma, that were not active. I enjoy seeing this forum grow with new member's. It means more great advice, more rescues, and more fun stories. Stormi and co. |
I think that's a good idea too... it would be nice for everyone to pop back on, and I bet once they see how much it has grown they'll stick around. |
It *IS* time for another newsletter.
I am all ears and eyes for any suggestions! Go and read some previous letters, and see if I can improve on anything! Anyone have any knowlege/experience in putting together an internet newsletter? |
So we are missing in action? When we went on a cruise they had a MIA board up at the door. Evidently some of the staff don't return and they list their names on the board ...
It would be neat if so many of us logged on Ron had trouble with his huge amount of band width. I will try to be a bit more consistent with my visits. Only see a handful of people I used to swap stories with still around. New is good though. |
Ha ha! Its nice to "see" you again. I missed your stories. I hope everything is going well! I sure am one of the newer people on the forum, but its been over 6 months and I am still addicted to it!!! LOL There are so many great people here and I trully enjoy talking to them. You sure are one of them!!!! |
Marley looks adorable. Yeah I missed posting, but I found a few other.. things to do.
I have to get going. Typing on this laptop is killing my back. Seems my high speed isn't very high speed today either. Things to do, dogs to tend to .. later. |
Hi Agingright,
It is nice to see you back. It sounds like you have been having a hard time of things. How are all of your girls doing? I think you still had one in school, if I remember right. Poor Abbi and her nose. I hope it heals up quickly for her. Root beer sounds like quite a handful. Have you said how he got his name? Stormi and co. |
My eldest will graduate with honors from Honors college this spring, then she's getting hitched. (Sigh!)
The one in intermediate is having the normal ups and downs. Seems our schools are really turning into prisons. It is hard even to get on campus to talk to anyone now days, and they wonder about parent involvement? My youngest is in 2nd grade. Seems to be racing right through the curicula. Likes going to school for a change. The teachers keep misgrading papers, so we have to go through each and every one. Guess that's a good thing. Root Beer. MMMMmmmm. My daughters named him. They picked him out from a shelter line up of over 130 dogs. One wanted a Golden Retriever. The other one wanted an Irish Setter. They picked out a Chesapeake Bay Retriever with the spirit of a survivor. He will retrieve until the sun sets. He will even retrieve dog treats, bisquits, and hotdogs. Oh, he eats them after a while of fetching, but retrieving is his THING. If you will throw it, he will try to catch it, preferably in the air. He will not sit long for a photo, so his photos are not very good. But he is a very striking dog. Gold eyes, red-brown hair, feathered legs and tail, and a bush of hair down underl. He's cleaned up very nicely. But he will go 3 feet from the door and urinate. Digs holes to China. Howls, barks ....a real handful. He now barks on command(SPEAK). Sits. Gives you his paw...a bit too aggressively. Working on the welting scratches. He will RETRIEVE, of course. Have him even sit and wait for the Go Get It comand now. He still rushes the doors. Still howls at sirens, but doesn't bark at 3 am so much any more. It will just take time. Time. I need more time. Gotta get some other stuff done. He was named Root Beer because of his brownish-red coloring with the cream ruff and feathering, like bubbly, foaming root beer. Also because he seems so sweet and bubbly. And the girls both love Root Beer, the dog and the drink. It seems to fit him. Although he has a sly side. The day he bit Abbi he was so nochalant. Abbi was full of herself and probably tried to go take over his food bowl (we were not really watching them), and he snapped her nose ... lots of bleeding, but it is now healing slowly. It will have a scar this time. She probably deserved it, but she earned staying inside all of the time while he is outside for a while. So now he lets her do whatever she wants, if we will just go play fetch with him. He isn't stupid, nor antisocial. I guess he just was trying to move up the ladder. Abbi will always be my baby and the queen. Poor Root Beer. Maybe he can out live her! He seems quite young. Wish humans were as easy to sort out. Here's some dark photos of Root Beer. Having technical difficulties with editing and camera. http://catcreativee.com/Abbi/RootBeer.html |
