So, lil J and I ran through the sprinklers today w/the girls next door (who were in their bikinis). ...just can't believe ...here in alaska! The little girls didn't want the beast outside though, so just the little doggie got to enjoy running around. Please don't get hotter. I'll look forward to waking up where it's a perfect 48 degrees. Going from that cold to hot probably makes it worse |

I know exactly how you feel, we just left Fort Wainwright, Alaska, in February. You'd think if it was going to get that hot, they'd have air conditioning up there. We used to go to wal-mart just to enjoy the a/c. I was sooo happy when our three year tour was up. Now we are in Fort Polk, and its hot, but we have a/c. I still have a ton of fans from our time in the great frozen north. No one would believe me that it got that hot in Alaska. Hang in there! |
Sending winter over there, it's darn freezing here in Melbourne.
After our long hotter then usual summer, now I am complaining that it's cold. And here I was at the height of summer saying bring on winter. No pleasing us at the moment. |
Summers in Anchorage were not this warm when I moved here 30 years ago. Then it rain more often than you saw the sun. Now it is more like Fairbanks summers. None of my south facing windows let in sunshine or heat. It is a bit like living in a cave. But it is cool. Just wait it will be cold soon enough, then you will be leaving for warmer patures. |

Well that's cool you were stationed over there!! I promise I won't be wishing for warmer weather!!! I kept begging for more snow this past winter!! As long as the roads aren't icy when I deliver, I'm all good. |

And this from the girl from Texas!!! |
I am honestly shocked, I did not know it got that hot in Alaska...guess that is the little ol' Kansas girl in me. That is warmer temps than we have here. It is humid as all get out, but not that hot. |
This past weekend was BEASTLY, we had temps in the mid 90's with HIGH humidity. But after a couple days of rain it is currently a VERY pleaseant 74!! |
They have A/C IN TEXAS!!!!!!!!!!!!
No, we seriously are only considering going back there because of family, family, family. They have some pretty dang good shopping too. Other than that, my husband and I HATE it after coming to Alaska. I woke up this morning thinking the house was going to be cool like normal, but the temps are already climbing up. House never cooled down. I'm so grumpy now. At least I can look forward to ravenmoonart's dogs are coming over all day tomorrow!!!!!!!!! Woohoo |

92 was with heat index. It was really in the the mid 80s. The thing is... that's super hot when temps aren't normally this high this time of year, and you're used to waking up to it being in the 40s. The high in the hottest month last year was only about 72-74 (and that was definitely bikini wearing temps here!). |
OH WOW< that sounds like FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
