Is it okay to eat the blueberries? |
|
Yup!!
Mushrooms will grow in any soil given the right situation. Doesn't mean there is anything wrong with the soil or the plant. I never heard of growing blueberries in a pot!!! |
I thought they'd be fine to eat...
When we went to Lowe's a while ago to get some flowers they had a bunch of young berry bushes...blueberries, blackberries, other things...so I figured we'd get one. Since we're moving I didn't want to plant it. It's done really pretty well so far. Oh, and it's a REALLY big pot. |
We put ours in a pot too. It's so much easier to maintain the really acidic soil they like in a pot! Just remember, for maximum production next year, you need to buy a bush of a different variety- blueberries produce more berries if they can cross pollinate! Have fun. Ours won't be ready to eat for a few more months, but those strawberries are looking might nice! |
The mushroom is the "flower" of a fungus in the soil happily munching on the rich organic matter. The fungus is good, it is breaking down the organic matter into soil nutrients. Of course the "flower" appears more often in constantly moist soil........you are watering well Just cut off the mushroom and throw it away. |
